EDIT2: new day, new loss
15-M Signal-Line entered positive. Switched to 1-M, waited for the EMA flip. Price retraced and nova signal. Entered at third bar. SL set at recent low. Loss again.

EDIT3: finally, hit the second one. 1.5:1. but it was almost hitting SL before it went up.

EDIT4: got the third one. stopped it manually at 1.6:1 because price hit 3980. I was afraid that it would retrace.

Unfortunately, I had the same problem, except that I lost everything, so yours isn't so bad and there's nothing to be ashamed of. Someone wise will surely help you.

Firstly did you have a HTF bias?

For me, I wouldn't have taken any position until either the high or low was taken out of that sharp drop prior simply because you were trading within a range.

Its ideal to wait for a recent high or low to be taken out before taking entries because anything can happen within ranges.

The main thing is to wait for the most ideal setups and those are the ones where price breaks out in the HTF trend direction.

A lot of the time getting the ideal entry is to wait for ltfs to align back with the HTF trend and then hammer.

I'll have a look shortly and give a better example of what was happening.

For me if a high or low hasn't been taken out then I simply won't trade till it happens.

How is it possible to distinguish between a high or low being taken out i.e. a real break of structure vs a liquidity sweep?

Thank you so much for your reply! My HTF bias was bullish at that time, like mostly on gold.

What were your thoughts here, and what gave you confidence that the price would continue to move down? Because it moved down from EMA and retraced first time?

On your chart, the nova signal is above zero. In my understanding, that's not a bearish signal.

I'm just curious because i'm still learning. . It would be nice if you share your thoughts.

And what broker is that? On my chart that nova bar is green.

I don't know which broker you're using. I usually use OANDA on TradingView. I don't read the price, whether it might continue to drop or not, as that has negatively affected my trading. I simply execute it if I see the signal. I don't adhere to the specific strategy in this thread. But the NOVA indicator has improved my results. For me, a valid entry with NOVA is when the background is the same color as the signal (in this case, red). I base my trades on other factors, but in case it helps you, I'll take a look.
At first, I only executed the trade when the indicator's EMA crossed the zero point, and that gave me a candle in favor of my trade. It's a good place to start with this indicator. You can see it for yourself.
