Asia over for me now

was all USDJPY trading today
+8p on the way up to the confluences
+26p (2 indiv trades) on the way back down from the confluences
+34p asia

Back I imagine for Franky-London to see where (or if) they have moved UJ price again.

Well I couldn't add much to my take yesterday

I did get caught post-London on the wrong side as price started to push up again
but extracted some small extra after Asia (just 4p LOL ) before closing the day out positive well before New York.

Been looking at UJ for 5wks now over the weekend on the Trade Simulator to note its behaviour vs GJ.



Plus our new Ms Yen is making bold comments towards the BoJ I see.

Interesting to see how that might all play out now in the day to day halls of the trading though.

If someone said they’re all from the same Algo generated program just with different parameters I wouldn’t argue against.

But then you know my view on the game…

Always fun for me to open the charts in the morning and just see what the gang got up to in the NY session.
Did not dissapoint hahaa


It would seem to me this morning that our MrU
and his new partner in Yen paradise are joined at the hip
ie MsT, as PM to be.
(just joking MrU, honest )


I trade Asia myself and pre-Franky-London and THEN let the wolves do what they do best in New York while I head off for some slumber
This morning was quite interesting hahaa and starts off another day up in the clouds

do you only trade JPY currency ? or also other pair like XAUUSD/EURUSD or other ?
any idea ? I' m confused about the direction at the moment. XauUsd is so strong these last days ... still up also today . how about some days in the future ? EurUsd is also very weak , no signal of revesal yet. i am afraid of FOMC some hours from now ... i have no idea, USD will be weaker /stronger?

Any idea of simple indicators that we can use for direction??

I thought about one of my (long) replies and chose against it. But it ended up long anyway sorry .
Basically anything I will say is from years of reading other books/pdfs
and studying the market I trade on a Simulator to attempt to understand each question you ask. Mainly direction.

In the end I would say I am a discretionary trader (not systematic) who trades in the moment around, to & from many horizontal lines which I label target trader attractors. ie the market (seems) to use those targets day after day, and while ANY horizontal line you print will eventually be hit by price the purpose of my attractors (to me, that is) is that often price will stall there as an Inflection Point before moving away (sometimes they blast straight though which has a different meaning). But when price stalls I assume there is a new balance between buys & sells at strategic points/prices which the larger market is at that point constantly aggregating before moving off in a new (or same) direction. see the little graphic below for meaning.

So in essence I do NOT neeed to know actual or absolute direction in advance (we all will have a small bias, of course, based on a few things we do oursleves maths wise or visually or with some indis also). My suggestion (as I am a discretionary trader) is to be patient and just WAIT until the market shows you its (new/current) direction. You may miss 5 pips at the very start of a move but best to be with the move imo rather than waiting in some DD for a return to our/your idea of what direction might/should be.

This waiting patiently discretionary trading suits me best as I only trade sessions (predominantly Asia which has its own peculiarties), not days,
and price direction can change each time even as sessions change (or not change also, lol)

I trade GBPJPY predominantly but more recently have included USDJPY into the mix
(cheers danger-mouse for prompting me to look at that major pair again).

There is enough pip movement in those yen pairs in Asia and pre-franky/london to usually have me closed & flat for the day before the runup to New York which is past my bedtime hahaaa.

You can search my home page posts and look for the words "simulator" or "trade simulator" to get a link to such mt4 files and then just run the simulator - weekends also when the markets are closed - and study what happens at the times, prices & levels where you might be trading for real.

Else, and maybe more simply or suitably, employ maths to examine expansions & ranges (ADR by day, week, even session sometimes) and then what deviations seem to fit your trading timeframe. I myself don't pick tops or bottoms I hope to let the market show me when & where (and yes, again, miss 5 pips at the beginnings).

All the best sir, it's a very tricky game, and not JUST the markets but understanding YOURSELF and your part & weaknesses and limitations in the whole process also.

not sure your guys methodology in finding entries buy jpy trades im looking into as well, just got nicked out of a be on gbpjpy, quite a nice gap, set some alerts around 205.60 and under seeing what it does around there might try have another pick at this short if it goes up, my jpy index is nearing a d1 and w1 zone

Looks to me like the market is in an aggregation stage between yesterday's New York open & today's Day Pivot point then RN500 just below.

When they decide any imbalance has been satisfied and move out of this inflection area (and in which direction) is still to be determined.
Will it happen during Kev's monkey-business period (in an hour or so) or later in the pre-Franky / London open leadup I will just wait & see.
No big break moves as yet it seems.
