I apparently need more coffee. Regardless I am watching my 30 min chart. Highs and lows getting swept and I think I will wait for NY open and initial balance.

The last U.S. government shutdown occurred from December 22, 2018, to January 25, 2019, making it the longest shutdown in U.S. history at 35 days. It stemmed from a budget impasse over funding for the southern border wall under President Donald Trump.

Impact on NFP (Non-Farm Payrolls) Release

During that shutdown:

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) continued to release the NFP report on schedule because it was funded through prior appropriations.
However, other economic data—like GDP and CPI—faced delays or were suspended.
The shutdown did not prevent the NFP release, but it did affect data collection quality, as some government survey operations were disrupted.

What Happens If Another Shutdown Occurs?

As of October 2025, there's renewed concern that a shutdown could:

Delay or cancel the NFP release, depending on whether BLS is deemed “essential” and funded.
Distort market expectations, forcing traders to rely more heavily on ADP payrolls, JOLTS, and ISM employment subcomponents.
Increase volatility, especially in gold and USD pairs, as uncertainty around labor data clouds Fed rate expectations.

• 3850 is still the key level, but uncertainty around it—especially with Tentative NFP—makes conditions murky.
• Smartest move? No trade. But if I engage, it’ll be with full caution and clean criteria.

Remember if NFP is released the forecast is for it to be positive. That could cause a reactionary drop if and when its released

The numbers are already done,just no one to publish them,the only one who can do it now is Trump or his office,senators are asking him to tell the data bc it's to important for the economy
