Speaking only for myself, and not "the TDS crowd" (whoever they may be), if Cook committed fraud -- and it certainly looks that way right now -- then she absolutely should face the consequences. Even if it means losing her job.

But it is certainly ironic that a President who himself has been convicted of massive fraud in his company's real estate dealings should now attempt to take the high ground and vilify Cook for her comparatively minor infractions. But he is acting within his authority to remove Cook for cause, if that can be proven.

What bothers me the most, though, is that Trump's "justice" is always selective, and usually political. Terrorists attacking the Capitol building and violently assaulting police officers? Pardoned. NYC Mayor Adams corruption? Not pursued, after an apparent deal with the Administration. And the list goes on...

If Trump were actually a law and order President, and if his efforts to fire Cook were not so obviously an attempt to gain leverage within the FOMC, it would be much easier to swallow Cook's firing. But Trump is himself a felon, and only cares about the law when it suits his own purposes. And that's what makes this seem wrong.

Agree with everything you said except for the first paragraph. First off, the allegations against her are just that - there's no trial, indictment or even investigation yet. So believing a discredited shill nepo baby that she's guilty of fraud is kinda ironic and making a lot of assumptions, but even if there was an impropriety, the mortgages were actually originated prior to her time at the Fed. The for "cause" rule only covers her tenure on the job - not her entire life.

As I’ve said from the beginning, she’s done, as she should be. Her refusal to acknowledge her intentional or unintentional error on her mortgages, and her wildly politically biased response proves she is unfit for such a position. As usual the TDS crowd on FF chose to ignore all the facts of the case and insisted she was some sort of victim, which is ridiculous.
