He knows best, just like he did when he had the casinos. Was continually advised they were dead in the water, but Trump’s uncanny ability to predict the future proved them wrong hey… he’s a financial genius.
Of course inflation just started to rear its head. Tariff inflation and ICE removing all those lazy immigrant agricultural workers who were taking American jobs, not to mention those in other labor intensive areas . Tick tick tick….

Trump hit Powell again, calling him “Too Late” and blaming him for high mortgage rates and a weak housing market. He says there is no inflation and that the Fed should deliver a big rate cut.

The problem is that the data does not fully support his claim. Producer prices are still running hot and core PCE is above target. Powell is likely to stay cautious and data-driven, not political.

Market view:

Dollar Index (DXY): Could swing on political pressure headlines, but real direction comes from Fed signals.
EURUSD: Can pop on softer dollar sentiment, but needs dovish Fed action to hold gains.
Gold: Supported as traders price in “cut sooner” noise, but vulnerable if Powell pushes back on inflation.

For now this is more political noise than policy change, but it does add spice before Jackson Hole.

Euro Slips on Fed Caution, Sterling Awaits CPI (08.20.2025)

EUR/USD hovered near 1.1640 in North America on Wednesday, down 0.12% but still holding above 1.1600. Traders await Fed Chair Powell’s speech at Jackson Hole and developments in Ukraine-Russia peace talks. U.S. housing data drew little market reaction, while mixed inflation prints left rate-cut expectations uncertain.

Resistance is at 1.1770, with key support at 1.1600.
