August is holiday month for the (big) players if my memory serves me well.
Still, the intraday mechanics seem to repeat the same structure behaviour around the same attractors (imho)

Some Stacey Burke setups from today/yesterday (Monday) with Stacey Burke Range Expansions!!

Just the basics..nothing fancy... I only traded GC Gold today.
I also including a Gold chart from Tue July 22 that Blue circled area is a
Parabolic long setup pattern (with some other SB context). I only included it
as it was textbook perfect to the tee..

When Hindsight becomes foresight with setups/patterns ..this was a prime one.

A very good trade where entry made no difference,,,It's just a point
of jumping in the river on a A+ setup.

Back to Business....I traded Gold long today and stayed focused on the trade mgmt.
BUT I did look over at the ES/SP 500 and thought WOW !
US session from the 820 gold open and 930 equity open

I guess some of this comes from years in the trenches..but at some point (hopefully)
one develops an Unconscious Competence....much like driving...

First is the obvious... LEVELS LEVELS LEVELS and Behaviour of Price.

Observe how price can make no progress above the Prev MONTH Close
or past Fridays HOD level
or past Mon HOD level
Observe how price has moved in a narrow channel for the entire globex session.

We all know price will not stay sideways forever.
at 815 am the ES forms a nice BIG Bearish candle (thinking Gold opens at 820 )

Gold kicks off a ripper of a long at 820am ES is pushing lower ,,,now these markets
are not always inversely correlated ,,but often they can move in opposite directions. hint hint hint

Now none of this as it relates to the ES is grounds for just shorting it... Waiting for the 930 open
and the 15m ORB to form... Now here's where experience comes into play.

Observe the behaviour of price of the closed 15min ORB...specifically the candles ,,,the type of candles..
where are these candles situated in relation to the levels above etc..

The thing is ORB setups are a low probability setup for the reason most breakouts fail. Trick is tweaking your
Money Mgmt and developing your skillset to observe all that is going on around you....
This doesn't mean we will always get it right and hey maybe ES shoots straight up...

This is where PATIENCE comes in.and not blindly taking trades...Rules can be developed to not trade INTO
certain areas or levels...Today was a prime example.

So at 10am ----30 mins into the session..at 10AM (important) price forms a large Bearish engulfing candle..
it engulfs the Equity open, it engulfs the Months Open, it engulfs the PDC(which is settlement on my charts)

10 am is the start of a new 4hr bar...important to know when and where these candles start and end and how
price behaves at these times... US equities are notorious for changing direction at 10am.

But besides all this extra jazz I speak of...to simplify one needs to only look at how has price behaved entering
into my trading window,,,, Im referring to all those Blue arrows

Nothing is for sure in this business and the market can and will do what it wants...and could have gone long easily,,,
Its just a point of stacking probabilities in your favour ,,,pulling the trigger and let the outcome be what it is.

I do believe in keeping things simple...but I also believe trading is a highly skilled game..and if your short on skills
Wall street certainly isn't and will take your money... developing your skillset is necessary and it takes years IMO
of focusing on what really matters in trading. You simply cant be a simple simon and succeed....skills skills skills.

Doesnt mean you need 5 MAs 3 oscillators...Bands Volume etc...Some of this is useful.. But one needs to study
MGI-----Market generated Information....Basics of that are Levels and Timings..All of which is on my chart. MGI
and how does price behave around these levels and timings.

If anyone is still following Kudos ! lol.... I only try to help when I can... Im not the best, richest or brightest and certainly not a Genius !
But I do have decades of screen time and trades under my belt and can read a chart well.

Short Post,,,,,( I think )

OK the short post thing didnt work out and I'm saving it,,,so I cut it and pasted into Word.

I have decided to start a thread in Trading Journals Discussion most likely Sat morn will get it going.

Where I hope to enlighten and help those that are open and willing and have a dedicated place
for my charts to be documented and live on and as well my own space for me to learn as well.

It's taken me decades to get where I am,,,,and my journey continues as I continue to grow in this business.

First charts Crude Oil from today Thursday August 07



This last chart of Oil ↑↑↑↑↑ ...Some may recall the last few years me going on about the 50% trade....This is a prime example of
the market breaking out of the Initial Balance and retracing back to the 50% level of the IB...Solid A+ setup

And ES/SP 500 15m ORB and 1HR IB extensions stacking the probabilities in your favour.
