totally agree, i started trading/learning/losing money in 2020, been in and out of the markets constantly since, attempting prop firm challenges, failing, being profitable for 1 day, losing everything, learning, failing, rinse and repeat

only 5 years later i am able to hold down an account and grow it slowly, consistently being profitable now slowly but surely compounding my account, and thats even with 1 big mistake every so often like over leveraging and almost blowing my account,

patience and risk management is so important in this game

Gold is hard to read from day to day because US Dollar is deciding whether to be strong for the rest of 2025 or just keep disappointing the Dollar bulls.

Why US Dollar you might ask? Well, it is XAU - USD after all.

Got my hands on ‘Reminiscences of a stock operator’ at the library in Dubai. They have a huge trading and stock market section. can’t wait to read through it. Anyone read it?

With the latest COT report, more longs have been added in one week than I have ever seen.

My guess is that gold will be headed up to an ATH very soon, maybe this week.

In a Commitment of Traders (COT) report, a change in the long position indicates the difference between the number of long contracts held by a specific trader category (like commercials or non-commercials) in the current week compared to the previous week. A positive change signifies an increase in long positions (bets on price increases), while a negative change indicates a decrease in long positions, potentially due to traders closing out long positions or opening short positions.

Example:
If a group of traders had a net long position of 100 contracts in gold last week and this week they have a net long position of 120 contracts, the "change" in long position would be +20. This indicates that the group increased their net long position by 20 contracts, suggesting they are becoming more bullish on gold.

As you can see below, net bullish positions on gold have increased by the 41K. That means more likely bullish big time.

It is more likely more people want to buy high without meet a proper seller, and bighand gonna show his triumph card, liquidity grab/sweep, this really mean nothing but telling you more people have just bought or sold in minor reccently. Then 1 big guy comes in and grabs it all, selling or buying thing in bulk. I dont mean it gonna go up or down, but to be precise, it means more liquidity is adding up this shit hole.
You can see here, mostly people which are profitable now stay at 343x and 322x not this shit hole

its basically a biography of jesse livermore, one of the greatest traders of all time...he made and lost 3 fortunes at a time people had to draw charts by themselves on their kitchen tables using a pencil and graph paper

the greatest trader was a japanese named munehisa homma who invented candlesticks and was richer than buffett,soros or livermore from trading

you wont find any setup or charts or pictures for that matter LOL....its full of trading psychology tho since thats 90% of trading...he did create pivot points

livermore,wyckoff, elliott,gann were all price traders since all the bullshit indicators werent yet invented ... the stochastic indicator was created in the late 50's and now a new one keeps being created daily for people to follow and lose their money even quicker LOL

if any ones curious and motivated all their books even hommas are free online in pdf form...jesse wrote one or two and the others wrote several and thats where ICT stole all his ideas, renamed them, and called them his own on youtube

when your in that dubai library also read technical analysis of stocks and commodities magazine and futures magazine...they both highlighted techniques and methods and gave code for computer trading...futures is defunct but TASC still prints...its best to read old copies from 5-10-15 years ago

before all you youtube prop kids start jabbering crap about ICT price action trading...it is not... all he means is trading without indicators using support/resistence levels...thats not the same as price action trading

price action trading used to be called tape reading a 100 years ago and thats what jesse livermore did since he prolly had a eidetic memory so when you read his trading book or wyckoffs just dont expect many pretty pictures of charts since they were written 80 years ago LOL

so keep that in mind when reading and then you can translate tape reading to computer trading like i did

yeah, it is so call tape reading, and the one who make this really famous is Rollo tape, Richard Wychoff. I didnot read many recently release book. The book that change my style is Studies in Tape Reading by Wychoff himself release at 1910. It seems to be 100+years passby but all trading basic still stays same. The only thing that change is people who learn the method, then give it a new name.
The book show some chart like this i just wonder how the hell he could trade at that ancient time
