Neither I or Van have said any such thing but you do seem to like taking cheap shots in an attempt to undermine the long standing credibility of anyone who posts a balanced perspective. Market is its own boss, we are currently coming to the end of Q2, and the end of the month when capital inflows tend to send market bull for a few days, and Q2 earnings season around the corner. Does that mean market will go south. Possibly, but the chart TA will tell the story, as it always does. Too much balance for you?

And btw, I have never in my entire trading life or posting here on FF put up trade signals. I occasionally can make chart observations, point out support and resistance levels, fibs that may be significant, moving averages etc, but what a trader does with their own coin and when is entirely their own prerogative. We are currently in a break out on both NQ and S&P. Will it hold beyond Tuesday next week? Unknown.

What I don't do, is hide behind anonymity, bec you're too chicken shit to put your name to your posts.

I suppose there could be some military benefit to his intent. If he is trying to prevent polar ICBMs from Russia, having US military assets wherever we want in the Arctic could be an advantage. Easier to do that if you own the land.

Ironically, the most logical rationale is likely very simple: ego. Russia > Canada > USA on geographic side. If Canada were part of the US, Trump would president of (and history would remember him as the one who created) the largest country in the world (presently).

....of course, since a large swath of Canada very likely despises Trump, adding it as a state and allowing citizens to vote essentially reduces the chance of Republican control of the white house (and probably Congress) for a few elections.

...but it has about as much chance of happening as the dollar being removed as the global currency, so I wouldn't worry too much about it...

Fortunately, I don't think anyone of worth (i.e. real fed rate policy makers) would condone a rapid move from current rates down to 1%. The president of the US is powerful, but not ALL powerful in this country. That is the reason the markets have rebounded the way they have (people discount his impact).

The FED is a governing body and, as such, requires a consensus to lower rates regardless of who is the chair. There is still hope that sanity will outlast swings from this or any future administration.

It’s ok to be wrong, we are human, everyone is wrong about multiple things everyday. The problem with trying to trade is being unable to admit you are wrong. That leads to outsize losses from which you cannot recover.

Stop reading posts by obviously losing traders, you can tell them by their constantly negative tone. No actually helpful information, no actual trading calls, just negative comments. Your chart contains all the information you need.

The paradox for some posters appears to be the ability to differentiate between having an opinion, being able to distinguish the facts from any given situation and trading alternatively to that view , ie- following the macro charts.

Not to get into whether the market has gone up recently because oooooh, boy, it has (to a MUCH greater extent than anyone on here would have thought.....or we'd have all been buying 6100 June calls on the S&P in early April)...but is there any merit in vehemently attacking an opposing viewpoint? That is what "makes a market".

The bearish sentiment was 'correct' from Feb 20-April's lows. The sell off was so fast and, in hindsight, overdone, but no one could have known that. Likewise, the rally "feels" overdone and a clear case of those who lightened up too much at the bottom (or were stopped out on margin) currently "chasing" to new highs.

When this has occurred in the past, the market sees an overcorrection to the upside and, very often, a decent retracement of that move on the first sign of weakness. As the overbought indicators continue to pile up, and retail really extends into the FOMO realm, the top will pop and we will get that 10% drop. Now, whether that happens tomorrow or a month from now is anyone's guess.

I, for one, am (and have been) long. I will continue to remain so, likely through the end of July (historically a good month for equities). August-October has been the bane of my existence in the past few years, so I may lighten up just due to that fact (as silly a reason as it is) and reestablish positions should there be a pullback.

As for Iran, we can all be grateful you were right....because the alternative is a VERY scary outcome. That said, I don't know when any of us can call it "over". Ceasefire is not a peace treaty. Is escalation 100% done? Since the regime has been poking the bear for the last 50 years I doubt it. But, again, I hope so.

Best of luck trading. As our positions are seemingly aligned, it will work out well for the both of us. For those who are managing short strategies in this low VIX environment so as to capitalize on any unexpectedly large (and, as always, rapid) downside move, I say "if there was ever a time to do it, now is the time".
