During a Friday afternoon question-and-answer session with reporters, Trump pointed to examples of prices going down. “If we had a Fed Chairman that understood what he was doing, interest rates would be coming down, too,” Trump said. “He should bring them down.” Trump has long argued that the Fed, which sets monetary policy in the U.S., should cut down interest rates. If I was President interest rates would have always been zero. 700 countries called me looking for deals. All wars, diseases, bad hot dogs, mean ladies, not none of it would have ever happened. But they rigged it against me. So now you'll have to pay. Everybody wants what I have. So call me. Maybe you'll get a deal, maybe not. Show some respect. Fuck you.

trump is the problem and if you disagree then you're probably a biased trump supporter who can't see reality.

I generally consider myself to be nonpartisan but this administration is straight up the worst I've ever seen and I lived through 8 years with George Bush in the WH

The problem with democracy is you get what the "people" vote for. If the voting population is educated, engaged in the process and understand basic economics you get a result that is good for all. You cant just vote for change without understanding the change you voted for

The irony of this article is that it would be accurate if the "he" referred to Trump instead of meaning Powell.

If the FED (or anyone) had a clue as to what the President's objective was, and what extremes were going to be implemented to effect it, adjustments could be made in line with those extremes. Until there is clarity, how could any same person make an adjustment?
