Its called profit taking in trenches. they cant liquidate everything, so if they like this spot they'll keep it there and liquidate using retail and competitors funds, hence the wicks. They control the narrative.

also, price usually revisits previously created zones mpst of the times. The sky is blue. Water is wet, yes. That doesnt make you less of a prick for this crappy reply.

Sorry, my arrogance, just want to constructively contribute.
On point 2, the area 2950-2970, price pulled away without retracing even on the 1 minute timeframe, clean huge displacement through new ATHs. In this type of intances, price ALWAYS retraces.
Your example (use of the 1D timeframe) is different. Even if price has retraced at the 5m timeframe, agree, no need to retrace. The mentioned area is different, as the inefficiency is huge.
