Thanks for the suggestion I do have Darwinex zero on a list but with the 15% profit split and their risk engine most likely lowering your profit I'm planning to copy trade with it rather than give it too much focus

Not sure where you are located, but I would check out Blue Guardian. They offer CFD challenges to USA clients and I hear very little controversy surrounding them.

I’m researching The 5%ers and their scaling program, which allows traders to grow their accounts up to $4M. I’m trying to understand the business logic behind this model and how sustainable it is from the firm’s perspective.

1. What’s the real benefit for The 5%ers in offering such large accounts?
2. If a trader is consistently making 2% per week, that’s $160K every 2 weeks at $4M. Does it actually make sense for them to pay out such large amounts, or are there hidden limitations?
3. Have you seen cases where they denied payouts or changed conditions for high-level traders?

Would really appreciate any feedback from those with first-hand experience!

-The terms are favorable for the firm. They are not really taking on any real risk.

Traders must pay a fee to participate (firm gets paid upfront), covering access to the funded account. This creates an immediate profit for the firm, regardless of whether the trader succeeds or fails. Since the firm likely does not provide any real, upfront capital, then it is the trader who is taking the financial risk, not the firm.

Soft stop-out at 30% limits their exposure. If an account reaches 30% draw-down, the firm "pauses" trading (soft stop-out). Most brokers allow traders to manage their own risk and trade until they hit zero, but the 5%ers intervene much earlier. This ensures they never actually risk the full capital, since most traders will be stopped out before reaching dangerous loss levels.

Hard stop-out at 6% means even lower real risk for the firm. Unlike a broker that lets traders trade freely within their balance, the 5%ers enforce a 6% max loss limit before shutting down an account. That means the firm is, at most, allowing a trader to "risk" 6% of a virtual balance, not real money.

The profit split is heavily skewed. At the start, the trader only keeps 50% of profits. Even at higher tiers, the firm still takes a cut (until reaching max scaling, which is never going to happen). Since they don’t provide real capital, this is free money for the firm.

If there is no real market execution, then they have no risk. Many prop firms do not actually execute trades on live markets; instead, they simulate them. This means that they act as the house in a casino, where the trader’s losses are the firm’s profits. If the firm is not actually trading in real markets, then their only concern is ensuring that traders lose enough to keep the business profitable.

The 5%ers present themselves as a firm that is taking on risk by funding traders, but their business model is built to maximize their profits while minimizing any potential downside. This is the common theme among most online props. The combination of buy-in fees, strict stop-outs, low profit splits, and potentially simulated trading ensures that the firm barely takes any risk, while traders face all the challenges of prop trading with added restrictions.

Even if real trading is happening, The 5%ers can still operate with almost zero real risk while growing trader accounts, simply by using their portion of the profit splits for scaling up. For example:

They control the risk with strict stop-outs. Unlike a traditional brokerage account where traders can manage their entire balance, the 5%ers use:

Soft stop-out at 30%: prevents the trader from continuing, reducing the chance of large account losses.
Hard stop-out at 6%: ensures that traders can never lose more than a fraction of the account’s balance.

Brokers usually allow much deeper draw-downs (sometimes up to 90-100% of the balance before a margin call). Since the 5%ers intervene early, they protect their capital far more than a normal investor would need to.

Scaling up is funded by trader performance (not firm risk). The firm would likely use its share of the trader’s profits to "fund" account scaling. If a trader is profitable, the firm makes 50% (or more) of that profit. This means that the firm is not putting up fresh risk when scaling up accounts; it’s just reallocating earnings from successful traders.

They likely do not even lose money on losing traders. A trader who fails early (which is common due to strict rules) never gets a payout. Since the 5%ers collected a buy-in fee upfront, the firm is already profitable from that trader’s participation. If most traders fail before reaching meaningful withdrawals, the firm has no liability beyond the initial funding phase.

If real trading is occurring, then it is likely that the firm’s share of profits covers their exposure. Even if traders are making money, the 5%ers are taking at least 25-50% of every dollar earned. If 10% of traders are profitable but 90% fail, then the earnings from the 10% are more than enough to offset any potential firm losses. This ensures a steady revenue stream that allows them to scale winners without taking on any fresh capital risk.

They could also be using a "b-book" model. I'm not really sure. Others would know more about that than I would. If they are not sending trades to the live market, though, then they are not even exposed to market fluctuations. They could simply be acting as the counter-party to all traders, where losing traders are profitable for the firm. If they do send trades to live, then they can selectively hedge or manage exposure to further-minimize risk.

In addition to all of this, if the trades are simulated, then they could essentially have control over artificial slippage, spread spikes and fills etc., allowing ample opportunities for manipulation that could result in heavy losses for the trader. Essentially, they could control their risk and ensure that no trader ever performs the miracle of flipping an account at 140% 8 to 10 times in a row.

I say miracle because if you could flip a 1K account 10 times at 140% without going bust, then you would have over $6 Million.

In general, the conclusion remains unchanged: 6% is the profit target and a static drawdown is prudent for both traders and prop firms. The scaling program up to $4mio is evidence of the absurdity of the prop firm’s offer—who’s going to pay? Poor judgment; no one wants to buy, so they use this as an excuse to reap profits for themselves through deceptive promotions and false branding. So if they were diligent, they could actually scale from that, say by taking Luxembourg’s peak, where the monthly GDP PP per person is no more than $13k; this translates to: with an 80% profit sharing and a 6% profit, the account offered is no more than 300k per person.

In business, don’t expect rational thinking according to science; what they’re thinking about is simply how to survive by any means necessary. So it's no wonder that from 2024 until now, no less than 80 to 100 prop firms have turned into scams or gone bankrupt.

yeah I saw that they were accusing you of DCA… ridiculous that we have to go through this nonsense tbh. I have to commend FTMO and 5ers in that respect… I’ve never had any issues with payouts nor the need for any interviews etc and I’ve had a several > 10k payouts in that time.

MISSED MONDAY .. Nice volatility but could not cash out...

1. Blue and Aqua 50kx3 - On pause until payout approved. I mean blue already sent rise invite but they need to sign first the docs before i can do anything. Aqua kyle said he manually added my request now their team going to review trades.
2. MFFU 50kx3 - Still waiting for funded accounts
3. FuturesElite 50kx5- They have resetted 1 account and still waiting for CEO decision for rest 4 accounts as i copy traded 5 accounts.

Evals
1. Tradeify 50kx5 - Lost the inital evals my fault completely forgot using tradovate and stop loss contracts got triggered forgot to remove those... Nevermind resetted all the 5 accounts as its cheaper than regular purchase and made 800$ per account. NOw i'll gamble the profit with bigger lot size.

What kind of accounts are you using in Tradeify? S2F?
I lost my Apex ones last week, but I think I will take some days off, before buying new ones.

EOD is my Jam... no more S2F anywhere they put a big hole in my bank account and reduces my overall NETT Profitibility after payout.

For me 50k is the best and highest chances of passing...

I picked 50k x5 growth on tradeify lost 1st time and then resetted on second try passed 50kx5 tradeify just now.......

SECURED FUNDING ON TRADEIFY AS WELL.....

I mentioned this before went through all my issues and trading failures of 2024 and made some minor adjustments which is helping alot in 2025...

Number 1 thing is 1st trade of the day will decide how its gonna end. So if its a winner then go for the daily tp target if its a loser then reduce size and try to recover ONLY LOSSES n close the day with minimal losses or breakeven (this helps minimizing the damage for bad trading days)

Second Problem was i was funded way too many times but payout ratio is very small. To fix the issue now the plan is aim for 1k for first 2 days of funded then make 200-300 to get to 3k and get the payout. Worked well for aqua and blue payouts. WIll do the same for tradeify and mffu.
