I was too embarressed to bother you with this question, but I need an answer to either dump my EA or have it changed by someone like you.
When I selected the Common Tab and selecetd the option of trading only longs, my EA took long trades in a short market and it pumped it out at a rate of knots.
Do you think the problem lies within my EA or is this normal for all EAs that the original design is flawed, which i doubt.
Looking forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

I don't think that I can say anything untill I can read the logic of your EA...

However, if the Sell conditions are still met on IsNewCandle(), the EA will do the same - close all positions, and open a new one.

The same thing will happen with the Buy conditions (88 to 93).

And there is nothing else to it.

Check out this version, and if you don't like it, trash it.

BestTrader, I have tried for 2 years to get someone to build me this EA idea and paid good moeny for the attempts which were useless and then a friend of mine offered to assist. So, yes you're right, for a specialist like you, this is kindergarten stuff, but thank you for your kindheartedness to not trash it on the spot. I will try it in the morning although I don't expect much volume because of the long weekend in the US.
I can send you the indicator if you so wish, but it is not a home made one. It was done by AlexSoftware in 2014. Let me know whether you want to look at it.

Well, if you paid money for that, you got scammed - sorry to say this - but this is so basic-simple that a newbie coder could have done that.
There are much, much more complex EA's available for free - I've seen some which should never be free, but from another perspective, everything can be free if one knows where to search...

PS. Not to mention that there is zero safety and checking features in this EA.
Also, if one knew how to ask GPT, it would be able to produce this EA, and it might even be working.

PPS. Also, if you had, maybe, asked a certain guy you were friends with some years ago, he might have helped you again???

Few more useful things can be added to enhance the EA...

I'm looking for a "sessions" indicator that will name and background colour the trading days of the week, recurring
I've got sessions indicators for intraday but although I've searched, haven't seen one as above

Actually i came in here today to make this request but ended thanking & requesting on another another post...

Good day Friends...
I would request the experts here to an EA for MT4 which can does the following basic things

1. When my Overall PROFIT (or LOSS) reaches a (X) certain amount in currency (NOT in pips or Equity amount or PNL percentage ), Close all positions.
(With a Popup Alert if possible )
2. I want the same EA to HALT the Auto Trading for (Y) mins of time along with closing the above Profit/Loss & restart the auto trading after (Y) mins
eg : Once my PROFIT reaches $ -50USD... immediately close positions with market order & halt the auto trading for 60mins ( & restart it after this 60 mins)

If possible
3. Option for a TIME FILTER to START & STOP the auto trading at certain times. SEPERATELY without disturbing the above functions.
4. Default Sessions indicator useful for the Previous (Point 3) setting ( i already use FXXI indicator) but good to have here too

I did search the forum & google for above EA. There are EAs to close all positions at certain profit amount or equity or some even pips
But my request to make one with the AUTO TRADING halting function combined..


PS : I am planning to run this EA parallel with a scalping EA which follows martingale
It manages with side ways or general market conditions
But When market trends, the EA has potential to blow account. So, i wish i would cut positions once the Loss accumulation at a certain amount & HALT the EA.

any ideas to enhance the EA (without changing the basic needs ) are welcomed...

EDIT: I do similar on Tradingview, set the sessions indicator to show just 1-all day session, won't display on 1-hour though.

First of all my sincerest thanks for your kindness accorded me. May you be blessed in abundance.

Secondly, here are the indicators that I have tried manually and in my naivity selected "half-trend nrp.ex4" (no source file) to trade with manually. I could not see any visible difference between the "nrp" and the "Close" which was the original.
So, attached are: HalfTrend-Close ( the very first ) set to close as the original coder selected Open. followed by half-trend_orig (just a renaming of the first one). I am not sending the ex4 nrp version for obvious reasons.
Looking forward to hearing from you at your convenience.

PS. For those of you who downloaded the indicators, they are identical. The "original" was just for the coder's own edification.

The EA is not trading and there are no errors either?The last 2 vertical lines indicate where it should have traded.
Also, looking at the info-window top left, should the down/up not be 1 = 0 ?
