The triple bottom area will be taken out before any up move. If price turns up without taking it out then price is destined for deeper falls.

I'm in shorts at 2742. I'll try and hold through the election and see how it goes, except it drops huge and tempts me to close all out in profit.

Agree. Because of uncertainty (think safehaven) until results are out. Also historically with each election dollar dropped on/before the day.

gold is at dangerous territory. ideally it should be sub 2725 with dollar being down but this uncertainty is keeping it bid. regardless of the election outcome it certainly wont jump to 3000 levels which goldman are speculating

I remember this period because I traded gold during 2013 and let me tell you it kept on falling till 1060 dollars. it was non stop fall from 1700 to 1060 in 2.5. yrs rout
