[quote=sj9bp20;14983948]{quote} Hi Sean, Like you I experimented with all types of moving averages. Sometimes good results, sometimes bad. None really worked. I don't remember the settings in the specific case I used previously so I have replicated as best I could...
Thanks so much for your in-depth reply, sj9bp20! And for trying to re-create something that you've probably moved on from. Very kind of you. I can't even count how many indicators (let along the different settings in each!) that I've been through over the years. You have given a very detailed response, and I will dig into it next week, as I've found that trading right before and after US holidays is usually breakeven (at least for me), at best!
And thanks for the video on BBMA. I used candlestick formations a lot and not sure if I've ever seen this one. Thanks again!
And to let you know, I came over here looking for something that someone from SwingMan's Golden Cross thread had mentioned. If you haven't been there, it might well be worth your while. He's programmed something that "predicts" where a Buy or Sell should be based on a moving average crossover and other factors, but it gets you in before the candle closes. Very interesting. I'm playing around with it on 1-minute charts right now. Fun!
Thanks again and good trading!
