I certainly agree with this. I just can't in good conscience ever let someone say never in this business without mentioning it. It is not anytime soon regardless of the situation and the only thing that matters next is the next TP. Cheers

Uhm..

We'll see... in my opinion if bulls don't recover soon and fast, then in my opinion we're going down significantly. Your idea sounds very reasonable of first down, then destroying Sellers and then down fast and furious.

So, for this scenario to happen where we go down first to 2450$-ish and then to 2550$-ish, I think the following scenario may happen. USD goes up for the whole week and the Gold drops to around 2450$ up until NFP report which will be a disappointment and will give the Gold once again the momentum to go higher. Then, we have a CPI report which would suggest that inflation is dropping convincingly towards the 2% (just look at other CPI reports that came out recently, Spanish CPI dropping like a stone basically, Euro Zone CPI dropping like stone, etc...etc. You get the pattern!) and the Gold once again goes higher on that report, because as a consequence the Fed would pick up the pace of rate cuts (cutting faster and by more). Then, Gold is trading at 2550$ and the Fed meeting is just around the corner. Suddenly, the Fed's CPI projection along with the rate cuts projection which would suggest that Fed is actually not going to cut rates as fast and as much as the market already priced in, which would consequently lead USD higher and everything else to drop significantly as the markets need to price out their rate cuts expectations and face the "reality" once again that the markets were ahead of the Fed considering how much the Fed will cut and by how fast.

Currently nursing longs to 2503, from there expecting 2484, a positive report today will flip the short term narrative for DXY indicating more strength and in return further weakness for xxx/usd pairs

Though I strongly feel like 2490 will hold until NFP, even though TA shows 2484 should be taken out any minute this week.

I'm pretty certain I trade completely differently to you guys

DAILY chart is in a position to rally based on the Indicators - next couple of days - obviously not guaranteed, but if it does it will create opportunities on the 1 hour & 15 min charts that can be traded long - Path of least resistance by the current position of these Indicators is up, does NOT mean that will happen, we've all seen Indicators give false readings - hence why I wait for price action to CONFIRM the expectation and then act

All I personally need to make is 0.46R per day or 2.3R over the course of the week and based on 44 trading weeks per year doubles the account - So I just hunt for markets in a picture perfect set-up to achieve that target as easily as possible, some days its gold, other days its a UK stock, commodity, stock Index or forex etc -I don't hang my hat to one market

Basically every news report up until NFP could be better than expected. Then, we get the scenario mentioned above.

I'd actually agree that first we are going down and then perhaps up just to go down once again and more significantly.
Down, up and then really down.

As said, my bearish outlook won't really change that soon I believe.

Interesting,

Say for example on a $1k equity account, how much would you be expecting to make a day minimum according to your ratio?

Your equity, or your starting equity was below or above $5k?

You don't have to answer if you don't want to, but i think its an interesting approach to trading you have.

Gold currently at Resistance on the H4 Chart (2500$), while the second Resistance is waiting at 2511$ - 2512$ if the one at 2500$ fails.
Conquering both of the Resistances would be pretty Bullish, but that isn't very likely at the moment.

Also, let's see what the EU Session has in store for us... lately it's been miserable.

One morning in the recent past the EU Session pushed the price of Gold by 50$ down and the Silver by 2$ down. Now, that's a real Session, not this wimpy price action we have witnessed for the whole Summer.

Selling Gold right now is a bit scary lol - It's due for a drop but can retest 2530+ if it wanted too. ( Well its scary for me since I do bigger lots).

2494 held & I TP at 2500. It may keep going north today to 2509, 2514, 2525+ possibly.

Hi - Whatever the size of the account the max risk PER trade is 1% - you can take as many trades per week as you wish

So for 1k = $10 per trade RISK = min target of $4.6 per day

I know this is LESS than the amount risked, but if you manage the position by trading in multiple units, you can catch your daily profit quickly, move the stop to break even and trail the remaining units and in reality, you can often make 1R+ per day, obviously depends on how you play the position

and if you get your weekly profit target early in the week, it completely takes the pressure off and you can trade with more freedom etc

PS - forgot to say - I've never tried to trade this on an account less than £25k - so you'd have to explore the issues that trading with a sub £5k account might have

Today, the USD is expected to decline, while Gold is likely to rise, as interest rates are anticipated to be cut.

Personally. If you have a small account use it more like an investment account, risk larger portion of it but over a much longer timeframe.

if you take options for gold to be under 2300 by 25/10/24 they are currently £11 per position, so for £250 you can hold 25 put options, at that level, if gold dropped say 80/100 points in the next 1 month, you can close 5 of these options to cover your £250 risk & you have 20 put options at that level with zero original risk.

if gold dropped to 2180 before 25/10/24 you would have +£2500 profit.

your risk / reward is hugely increased using options over a longer timeframe, the first risk is of course the biggest but you will increase your account far quicker & more efficiently doing this than sitting and staring at lines for $4.60 a trade.

youre also based on a £1000 account only risking 25% of the account - but over a 3 month period, odds of not making a profit provided you pick an outside entry are extremely low.

this is my HTF(H4) game plan for gold. I know It is wrong to say that it will definitely fall from 2550, that would be calling the top but I'll follow that price range
