Targets are the most important thing in my trading and that is why it's not uncommon to have a reward to risk of 20:1 on any given trade.
Even if I lose some trades (doesn't happen very often) they are always smaller losses.

Yeah I've been thinking that over the past few months of watching your posts - I'm the other way around aim for smaller quicker returns, in make a profit, get out on a trailing stop - Its my biggest trading weakness and I think after years of using it, its hard to get out of the "mould"

I aim for as certain as possible trades from a momentum basis - As I've made it work over the years

I re-read Wolfe Waves and my harmonic patterns books the other day and buying/selling at a set zone, just fills me with dread - which is probably telling me, its not suited to me or I have to put my big boy pants on and try something new - I might try testing it out in Sept when back from hols and have a think about it all

I'm the sort of person who has to plan it all out step by step, see the trees and the forest and think ah ha

All depends how brave I get lol

That is ok. Even if you don't use the patterns to join the moves you can still use them to collect profits.
I know old habits die hard.

Cheers - Its definitely something I'm going to look at, as I know I'm leaving money on the table

I don't know if you've heard of Bryce Gilmour - you must have if you use harmonic patterns

anyway I read his books 15 or so years ago and thought, this seems complicated and a lot of thinking/calculations, then I got to this page and the method just jumped out at me as super simple

so this is basically my method in a nutshell - I do look at key geometrical levels and if I get this pattern off one, its game on

I just make sure my simple moving averages back up the trend possibility for "added security"

I'm also very very lazy, which is another reason I've not stepped out of the old comfort zone

Keep up the great posts Pedro, I do sit and chuckle to myself reading some of them and I really enjoy seeing your targets zones and watching prices when they get there - you should be proud of yourself as you really are a very talented trader, one of the 1% of the 1% of the 1%

You can use the fibonacci extensions, namely the 1.0, 1.27 and 1.618. When you see momentum and thrust before reaching the 1.27, it means that after pullback you will probably get the 1.618.
That is the reasoning I am using for this D1 chart buy which I open last.
The bounce was off the 1.27, market pullback and now could in theory, given that the criteria fits, follow to next target.
