Unrelated to the trial but worth documenting...

The most basic argument against Craig is that he won't sign the Satoshi blocks. This argument has a mirror: Why won't the "real" Satoshi sign the blocks to say Craig's a fraud?

Sure, there's a chance Satoshi died before Craig made his claims, but Craig wouldn't know that. Craig would be risking his freedom with industrial-scale perjury knowing that he could easily be exposed by the man he's impersonating. No way he'd do that. Unless, of course, Craig's the one who killed Satoshi?

There is a good chance Satoshi is already dead. I highly doubt Craig had any involvement if Satoshi is deceased.

I wouldn't put it higher than 5%, but we don't know Satoshi's age so it's guesswork to calculate.

This guy is saying Craig just moved Satoshi coins to pay out the Kleiman judgment. If it's legit we should be hearing about it from more reliable sources.

Edit: I think this story is talking about the same transactions, but isn't connecting it to Kleiman.

Ah, Hal Finney. There's a few problems with Finney as Satoshi:

1. Hal adamantly denied he was Satoshi.
2. Why didn't Hal leave his Satoshi coins to his family, or donate them? His death wasn't sudden.
3. Because Hal was referenced in the whitepaper and received the first Bitcoin transaction, he would've been participating in bitcoin with a pseudonym (Satoshi) and with his real name. Satoshi obviously wanted to stay anonymous, and sending the first transaction to his real identity wouldn't be a play.

Hal definitely has the skills to create bitcoin, but what else suggests he's Satoshi?

This week seems to be going well. Still feels like a coin-flip, but every day of the trial I become more convinced Craig will win.

Today the judge was busting on COPA's experts. That's all COPA has!

Tomorrow is the last day of closing arguments then it's in the judge's hands.

OK ok good points. I had some rejoinders, but the more I looked into Hal the shadier the sources got. There're some who say they have photographic proof that Hal isn't Satoshi. Anyway, I submit that Hal's a candidate.

Sorry I lead you astray broz. This trade is over as far as I can tell. If Craig can't win this, he can't win anything, and now there's a UK court ruling that says he isn't Satoshi. Craig might even be brought up on criminal charges.

Bottom line, I'd be selling right now if I had a broker. I'm headed for the exit as soon as I find the path.

Maaan I wasn't apologizing to you. I was talking the handful of people I lead into the trade. They don't post on here but they follow my thread.

After marinating for a few days here's where I'm at:

1. I haven't sold yet. I'm in a position that I wouldn't "repurchase every morning" so I know I'm on shaky ground. If you sold after the verbal ruling, that was a wise move and I would've been with you if 20K coins weren't so difficult/risky/expensive for a US resident to move.

2. I'm not selling until I see the judge's written explanation of the "overwhelming evidence." The evidence that Craig is Satoshi is self-evident (eg he convinced Gavin), whereas the evidence against Craig is highly technical (eg the whitepaper wasn't created in LaTeX). To this day I cannot verify a single piece of evidence against Craig without relying on a technical expert who's wrapped up in the Faketoshi drama, so I expect the judge's explanation will be extremely insightful.

3. Craig got caught forging documents/files. There's no other way he could've lost the trial, as COPA's only argument was "Craig be forgin!!!!" This is where the judge's explanation will shed major light, as he'll go into depth about the extent and degree of the forgeries. The judge's explanation should be less of an opinion than something forensic scientists can verify.

4. There's hope if the forgeries are limited. Craig is still a free man with 3,000+ blockchain-related patents. If the judge only confirms a couple innocuous forgeries, Craig has a path forward in the courts, both on appeal and in his other cases. I doubt this will be the outcome, but there's a chance.

5. There's no hope if the forgeries are illegal. If even one forgery breaks the law, Craig is facing jail time. There would be no path forward in the courts, and court is the only proving ground that Craig had. At that time I'll weasel my way into Binance, convert to BTC, then convert to USD through a US brokerage.

I heard it'll take several months before we get the written judgement. Until then I'm not wasting another minute on this bullshit.
