if you buy 1, you can buy another 1 in futures. if you close a position it just closes the 1st. If you buy 1 and sell 1... instead of holding both positions like in FX/CFD land, they offset and the 1 buy is closed. I never had issues with FIFO since I'm only in 1 trade at a time anyway.

You can’t take multiple contract positions in futures. Your position gets averaged in when you scale in and out.

I still have my letter to my futures broker from back in 2005. When I opened 2 accounts they wanted to know why and make sure I was not going to use them to hedge. I had 2 different trading systems that sometimes had overlap in trades in opposite directions in the same market. So I was able to manage it by putting long trades on account 1 and short trades in the same market on account 2.

I noticed that when I traded nq yesterday, since I placed all my trades in bracket in tradovate with fixed stop loss and target.. when I did average down, it closed my first bad trade at stop out, but when taking profit, it won't close my last trade, the end result worked in my favor since i had to hold all positions longer to close all at one time to be profitable trades. I guess in a way its good , you risk is fixed but your profit can be more than you are planning for

One thing I dont like tradovate, it doesn't allow me to do bracket with SL and TP in group when I copy trade between accounts
I only use tradovate for a day,, I don't know much. I dont know where to add stop loss and target price if I simply click buy and sell buttom.
So I have to ungroup my accounts, so I can set the bracket in individual account at least I have some control on my risk

Yeah brackets don't work when using the built in group trades on Tradovate. Only way to work around that is to place the SL and TP on the DOM, after the trade is open. Then it will execute across all accounts in that group.

WTF ?! Why would they care about that ? If you had 2 long and 1 short it's much better in terms of commissions than having 2 running and closing 1 of them temporary.

If you are not familiar with crypto I suggest that you open an account in one of the known exchanges (Kraken, Coinbase or Binance).

Then in the exchange you will find your address for the coin in which you want to be paid (for example USDC, USDT, BTC, etc.).

You enter that address in the prop payout request and receive the crypto in this address.

Then in the exchange you can convert the crypto into fiat (euros, usd, etc.) and transfer to your bank account.

Later you can investigate how to have self custody addresses if that suits you but for now I would say this is the simplest and minimizes risk of errors.

Which account size do people feel offers best value for apex? I was thinking about 10 x 25k as the DD to PT is most favourable. But once you pass you need to pay life time fee of 1.5k. When a single 250k is only $320. I suppose you do not have as much DD with the single account. Need to find the sweetspot i guess. Should probably start with 1 x 25k to play around with really.

I agree. First used crypto payout due to the deel fiasco. Opted for kraken, easy to use and quick transfers to your bank. Now my preferred payout method accept for direct bank transfer.

I don't look at anything >50K.... the target vs DD increases the larger the account size.

Futures are not like CFD’s - their world is not full of crooks and scammers.

There are some honest, transparent industries, too - strange though it may seem to some, here.

50K is the most popular as it will provide you with $2,500 DD, target only 3K. Once you go above, the target to DD ratio becomes pretty absurd.

Yes I think the 50k looks like it could be the best option. Lifetime fee only $10 more for additional 1k DD compared to the 25k.

This guy has an excellent analysis of each one from 4:30. It's a really nice table. Helped me to spot the differences between them. The right answer depend very much if we pass or not the challenge but I would say that 50K is the one that better balances every point.
