you are same uneducated.

only a very bad educated person can tell futures are for all trading styles and trading objects (like curencies) best to trade.

i would say Karl is not a trader at all when he really think this is true. and same for you. you then only promote future companies and have bad thing in mind for traders when you both really believe this and so cheat other with wrong informations. unbelieveable that not many other traders here comment for this fact, thats the problem that so many beginners cant see this mistakes and really believe it , when noone correct it.

tradingview is very basic. depends really what you want to trade. i think it cant even display a bid or ask chart in history (only the last traded or middle price charts), whats funny in OTC cfd/ interbank market, because this information is not there (so they just replicate the middle price or use future price (whats useless in currences for many strategies). so for OTC markets there are much better possibilities and metatrader is better to use then trading view. maybe the bid /ask chart is added now , this what i wrote is my information from last test.

in summary: so depends on what trading market you use, what trading strategy and what informations you need displayed and to catch by program.
metatrader is more easy when you are used too, i would then not switch to something like trading view... then for sure its better to learn fix api and play with the "big boys" so step by step.

Yes that is what I found in my investigation - Tradingview is very basic.

I have programmed since 1980 in many different languages. Some years also as professional as programming international Telephone switches at L. M. Ericsson. I can learn whatever langueage I want. But yes, MT4 is very simple. I like that.
MetaTrader 4 - so many advantages.

trust me in this. learn about fix api (or Rest APi , better to inform first about both to see whats possible and differences). if you need help with what content to start, you can ask.
you are in a background position to learn it fast, and this will give you a future proof opportunity, nothing like mq4,mq5 can ever give you.

thats a real additional edge. i cant believe Quickly and Karl really wanted switch you to trading view. its like they want block results of traders or bring futures in bright light, what they are for some trading markets and situations, for other markets and situations they are most useless, unsecure and most expensive.

I apologize, that was unkind of me to say. I do appreciate that you were trying to help. My backlash was more about some calling many intelligent and experienced members of this group that I respect "ignorant, opinionated, prejudiced" people who don't know what they are talking about, and that I'm "listening to BS" and I "need to think carefully about who I want to be guided by" and trying to force me to be on one side or the other like typical political parties ranting in my ear all day. All of that is foolish and unnecessary here, and that is what I'm condemning and calling out, not you personally. If it's any consolation, I consider myself a fool too, LOL! I encourage a healthy discussion and sharing of opinions and experiences without resorting to ridicule and name calling, and let people decide what they will and what works for them without assuming they are idiots for not doing it your way; the rest can be left at the door (including my own previous comment). MT4 and Tradingview are very good platform for trading. AaronPriest is not a good programmer if don't work his software...

We didn’t.

He said that apart from MT, only TV could work for him, so I told him he could use TV with Tradovate and that - contrary to what everyone else here had wrongly been telling him - MT was NOT involved at all.

And I’m still saying that. And it's still true.

i like what you write, exactly this is how you grow fast: have a conversion about a topic with all the advantages and disadvantage sides and then let people chose from this what they need.

and why you want people switch to trade futures, when future are only better in some times, strategies and markets combinations?
even futures in some markets / trading combinations have so extrem disadvantages , that any point comparing is negative for them. that will never happen to cfd.

by the way:i appreciate your answer, so a discussion can start. before you often blocked when something happend or you was wrong in your facts.

Thank you very much for your generous offer. However I am 69 years old and have decided not to start anything new up if I can resist it. I also was project manager on large scale software development projects for 35 years. I like to relax now. But you never know, I might get forced to change strategy. Trading is my main hobby. But I want to slow down and use some time on my other hobbies which have not had enough attention during my working life. I have fun in developing a radio transceiver from scratch.
MetaTrader 4 - so many advantages.

IIROC regulates fx market in Canada.
The mt4 / mt5 brokers operating in Canada like OANDA, CMC markets are regulated by IIROC.
Traders trading with such brokers need to provide SIN number in order for reporting profits/ Losses to CRA.

I wish you well wishes and would like to share the following. Although your methods and my personality do not match. Today is a pure example in why your mission is a valid one. It is not always about someone being wrong or right, but rather the bigger picture. Having a bunch of inexperienced loons running large (by revenue) businesses with no experience, no will to innovate, no will to comply and when they are down spreading threats to expose others rather than take responsibility for their own inadequacies, who's solutions are not to fix and get straight but rather to dodge, blame shift and accuse. There is a need for oversight and authority.

I don't agree with the authority that exists, but that authority exists. It is what it is.

Watching the actions of these neuvo-riche "influencer" kids during these moments of turmoil provide logical reason as to why my initial opinions towards regulations may be wrong on the surface. The "how" or the "method" of regulation is what rubs me the wrong way and my knee jerk reaction comes from a personality trait and not a place of ill intent.

Prop Armageddon has finally come. The method of regulation may not be the right one, but authority is necessary.
