Most of the time I see it hits my TP later but I book profit too early. I really have no patience but I do trust my system.

same bro... That's why i loss my 10% of capital today.... I hold my losing trade after reaching sl.... I also want to take a break and do something which improve my psychology and doing meditation and all

It's a retracement after a Bullish run..

Gold has been so crazy the past 2 months. I'd dare say it started around October 13th.

Also don't keep trades over the weekend as you'll never know what will happen like what happened on Monday, 4th December when the market opened and price shot up in an hour that made some brokers froze gold trading for some time.

Fair enough, leaving open trades on Fridays is a hit or miss these days.

Well, it seems that gold price has fully recovered from global decline that took place at the end of september. And judging by price behavior, it has consolidated above necessary levels.
That's happened more than once. And it looks like it's going to happen again. The wave character of movement of this asset has such specifics.

Someone mentioned backtesting during holidays, I lost track of who/where.

Be aware that backtesting overstates results because brokers' software does not model real market behavior. Look at the fine print on broker's modeling.

A typical model for a bar is either O_H_L_C or O-L-H-C, modeled with straight lines between those price points. Real markets do not move in straight lines: real price action will hit stops, causing losses that typical models will not see.

Result: understated losses. What looks like a winning strategy in backtesting could be an actual loser in the real world.

The difference might or might not be important--just be a bit skeptical.

I have also issue with taking early profits and very small. Main cause is using high lot size compared to the account.
