this should be their standard discount? so 19% less of our 90% discount.

I think they are always at discount of around 70% if I saw well in youtube

But why to reset an account and not to buy a new eval? isn't it cheaper?

Almost all high level traders specialize in 1,2, maybe 3 instruments. Another common trait is a minimal (think 1 or 2 daily) amount of trades. Much easier to manage than tracking multiple instruments accross multiple asset classes and being in and out all day. Persoanlly, I prefer being OUT of the market. The quicker and easier I can accomplish my profit goals, the better.

Wow is it me or do these platforms just plain suck?
I am humbled to have to ask such a newbie question here for something that comes so easily in MT4.
After watching videos, reading through the help section, etc. I still can not figure out how to close a particular position when there are multiple positions open! Feels ridiculous, what am I missing?
Example: I take a buy position on Nas100Emicro bla blah blah. Then the price moves away from me and I decide to add another NCA Buy position. Next the second position is now in profit but the first is not and I want to close the profitable position while leaving the first one in drawdown. Seems Tradovate has no way to do this? Seriously? Please help.

It’s not that they suck, it’s just completely different animal. You can close partials by executing in the opposite direction. If you have 10 contract buy and want to close half, you sell 5 contracts.

You also can’t “add” additional positions. What happens is price is then adjusted and averaged in. You only see one entry line, not a bunch like in MT4.

There is also no hedging in futures. It’s one direction only.

Has nothing to do with the platforms. It’s just how futures market works.

Yes, when you are accustomed to MT4 or MT5...these futures platforms suck. I am going in and out of orders half-assed, barely knowing what I am doing. I am setting SL and TP by creating new stop and limit orders. Of course, I understand that is exactly what SL and TP is, but man, it is much simpler in MT4/5. It's why I love my amp account.....MT5 is what I use there. Closing a partial on the fly requires an opposite position......I get it, it's a REAL market....just hard to adapt when you are used to much simpler ways.

I know that's fine. for me, since I mastered all of them, I like many small positions.

I wouldn't say "futures markets" but platforms available for futures. They could add that feature, in fact, in Crypto exchanges you can do it, you can choose to have just one position or several, similar to MT5 MT4.

I think you just need time and you get used it. Do you believe that I installed MT5 again today, and I could manage it anymore ha ha, and I went back to my lovely Tradovate. BTW, test Tradovate, may be you will love it. You can also have footprint charts (order flow) and many add ons for free. I love it.

Update time. My emotions and appetite for risk got the best of me and I blew 2 x 200k accounts
1. My Flash Funding - Funded account ()
2. Blue guardian - Phase 2 ()
3. SKilledFundedTrader - Passed phase 2 need to complete 5 days.

Thats the ratio for me last time bought 5 x 100k and got funded account.
This time bought 3 x200k and able to keep 1 funded.

Learnt valuable lesson to use smaller lots on funded account. Lets see if i can get to a payout. Any money made through it will be used to purchase more challenges Btw payout date is end of the month so gonna target 2.5% to 3% gain on the account and then stop trading.

Has nothing to do with "platforms." CME wont allow orders to be filled that way. No matter the futures platform, they all have to adhere how orders are to be executed set by CME.

The contract specs under each instrument includes what is called "EXCHANGE RULEBOOK" which dictates how orders are to be handled. Some of these rules go back before we or our parents were even born.

Wow the rabbit hole goes deeper and darker the more I explore these platforms.
Found this video that shows how to connect Tradovate to Tradingview which gives a better interface to analyze charts and trade from directly.
Next problem is how to perform Group/Copy trades with what they call Brackets(i.e.SL/TP)
Really can't believe 20 year old MT4 is so superior to all of this Futures Platform crap. Future needs to get with the Future part and get a little more futuristic.

Well for the longest time, majority of futures were traded via the DOM ladder. Charting was never widely utilized.

Tradovate group copy wont work with Tradingview. You can still connect to it and follow orders placed but orders will need to originate within Tradovate.

And you're gonna love this. Bracket orders wont work in group copy. You'll have to place your SL on the DOM.

There's an old school chap on there by the name of Jim Gasson. He posts regularly with potential price targets and commentary and has a exceptional track record.

I thought you guys were joking when you said MT4 the 2 decade old technology seems better to you compared to the new modern trading platforms... Guess not.
