Can anyone tell how much is a learning curve for Intermediate Forex trader to move to FUTURES specifically FUTURE PROP FIRMS

Also, it appears the Futures prop firms are already registered with our 'friends' the CFTC.

Challenges at Apex when on sale are dirt cheap ($16.xx to $18.xx for 50k). They have another 90% off sale now through the 7th, I think it is. If you choose Tradovate for your platform (NinjaTrader), you have lots of options to use instead of Tradovate including Trading View which many people like. This is what I'm doing. Watched videos on how to connect Tradovate to TV. Now learning my way around TV. TP goal is 6% ($3k) for the 50k level. Trailing DD of $2500.

I don't find trading Futures much different than CFDs on FTMO demo challenges (I never had a live account).

I considered the trailing DD with Apex Trader Funding. I usually detest trailing DDs but made an exception. First, the challenge price is dirt cheap. For me that is more than adequate using RR and money management.

I would only purchase when they have a sale (they seem to have 70-90% off sales regularly). Also, your next month (if you don't pass in 30 day period from day of purchase), is 80% off thereafter until you do. Or, you can cancel and buy a new challenge.

If you’re not pulling regular profit from FX, you won’t do any better with futures.

Making enough to fund my other endeavours. Nearly 2 years away from my goal of being fulltime trader (AIMING FOR MID/HIGH END OF 6 FIGURE PERSONAL ACCOUNT BEFORE TURNING FULLTIME). BTW my last deposit in forex was literally 5 years ago. After that its only reinvesting my profits to play around.

More consistency rules on Apex nobody wants to hear. But here is it:

It will trail by the max drawdown until you reach the max drawdown plus $100, i.e., if max drawdown is $2500 on a $50,000 account, it will stop trailing at $50,100. NOTE: PA trailing stops at Threshold plus $100, as where Evaluation accounts can continue to trail longer until profit goal is reached. This is a big advantage with PA accounts!

You can trade up to your max contracts. No contracts can be added. You would need to add an additional account instead.

Withdrawals can be made monthly at the end of the month.
You keep 100% of the first $25,000, and 90% of the profits thereafter.

There is a PA fee of $85 (Rithmic) $105 (Tradovate) per month or you can chose a one-time fee that varies by account size, which is an all-inclusive fee for non-professional traders.
You continue to get to use the Free NinjaTrader License Key.

Trade during the news - your normal Trading Strategy, we do not allow news Trading strategies or news directional or multi directional news trades of any kind, these are prohibited. Straddles, strangles, or any type of news trading is prohibited and considered high risk and the pursuit of lucky windfalls that can place funds at high risk and not accepted.

At no time can a trader be both long and short in their accounts, nor multiple accounts, nor in arrangement with other trader/s. This result in immediate closure of accounts and forfeiture of accounts and funds.

Trader understands Company is seeking "to fund and payout" traders who follow a consistent trading plan in size, stops, and targets. This means not trading max contracts on one trade, seeking “lucky windfalls” while trading micros the rest of the time, not constantly changing sizes, not dollar cost averaging, not doing high-frequency trading, and being consistent in the trading plan, including your entries, stops, and take profits. Trader funding and paid funded is designed to be a long-term relationship of consistency and steady growth for both parties"

When The Apex Trailing Threshold Is Calculated?

The trailing threshold is calculated Intra trade.

It is important to point out that the allowed minimum balance is not determined by the account’s value when a trade is closed but rather by the highest balance the trader attained on the account at any time while trading in the market.
Let’s start with the $100K account size, and let us assume that the trader made open a trade that gets the balance to $103,000, but the trader does not close the trade with that profits, but he closes that trade when the balance is $102,500.
The acceptable minimum balance, in this case, is not:
$102,500 – $3,000 = $99,500
But rather is:
$103,000 – $3,000 = $100,000

You enter a trade and get up to $52,000, but don't close the trade until your balance is at $51,000. Then, your threshold will be $49,500 ($2,500 behind the highest live value of $52,000).

So, as you can see, the drawdown threshold liquidation is not based on when you close the trade but is based on the highest balance of when you are in a trade.

This is important to keep in mind, especially if you are trailing trades, since when you give up profit on the trail, you still raise your trailing threshold."

With these live trailing max. Drawdown and also the discretionary consistency rules what APEX is looking for you cannot make it more difficult for any trader. I cannot imagine more difficulty than this!

I can only warn against APEX. From what I read on trustpilot that they are removing negative reviews and pay for positive reviews. And they have many (!) consistency rules when you are funded for sure. If you cannot list all their rules before you start here then you do a mistake. Also other fut props do not have live trailing DD.
