Maybe, but the panic effect of the escalation will have time to settle down. I can't see how gold goes much higher when Russia didn’t achieve it. The only way I see it going higher is if other countries start joining in, which is a possibility.

Im looking at the price from a purely technical perspective (although gold usually is more fundamental), everything is pointing towards continuation of the uptrend, of course i expect 40 - 50$ drop next week and then continuation of the uptrend

I currently have a small short on gold taken @ 2007 and plan to close it early next week

You know, if this happens I'll be raving, as I have sells down at 1900 and 1885, from just before the war had it spike up, although I haven't seen any wick to the top to confirm any change of character or reversal yet, but again if you are right and we are dropping from here to 1950, that would be great.

That would be amazing, you're analyses tends to be dead on! If gap down below 2000, and it holds as resistance again I'd be glad... In the week, I think Tuesday around 3pm GMT it hit a safety sell stop at 1963, literally just touched and then shot up, increasing my risk with about 40%, so just being able to take that one out at BE will be the best. After that I'll wait for it to drop back to 1885 before entering more shorts.

My first short position is at down arrow because one complete profile developed below main trend line but price went up and most probably it is SL hunt. I have seen many traders are favoring in long positions. There is nothing wrong if you have short term target but i will stay with bearish model. I will add another short position when another profile will develop below secondary trend line.

Thank you for your insight, and that you are still here, Aahmad. I'll be on the defence Monday come Asian open, if I add a long I'll keep setting TP at BE in case it starts declining back down below 2000

I am always here but there is only one difference is that I am only taking medium term trades based on break of trend in M30 timeframe.
