Gold prices rose on Friday, recovering a measure of recent losses as the Bank of Japan caught markets off-guard with some hawkish signals, although strength in the dollar limited the appeal of bullion.
Copper prices also rose on Friday, marking a stronger recovery than gold as the diminished prospect of a U.S. recession boosted the red metal. Copper also benefited from speculation over more Chinese stimulus.
Markets turned somewhat risk-averse after the Bank of Japan signaled a more flexible approach to its yield curve control policy, heralding an eventual pivot away from the bank’s ultra-dovish stance.
While the move points to more eventual pressure on gold, the near-term shock from the BOJ saw markets seeking some safe havens.

Futures are obviously looking at the long term. We can expect Gold Spot to follow the futures in the next coming months. Looking at DXY and Gold Futures the graph shows a clear strength in Gold and a weakness for the Dollar.

Someone please help me, I am new to trading Gold. I want to start with a $25k USD account using a broker offering a 20:1 leverage. I am comfortable with a 2% risk per trade. What size position and stop loss, should I use to start trading Gold in order to safely grow my account. Thanks in advance.

I got a sell signal on gold. Probable Target can become 1952 area.I may be wrong.Trade safe

2% Risk per trade....It's a huge risk. You said that u r starting so you need to risk 2% per day at least either as position or swing/scalp trader. Gold is a huge volatile pair to trade so in starting you should start with 0.10 lot to 0.21 maximum per trade. You required stop loss of 5$ above or below from your trade entry while trading then it will be consider a safe SL. If you are scalp/swing or even position trader the best RR can become 1:3 to 1:4 or some time 1:2 possible as per the market volatility.Trade safe

No need of any kind of screen shot here dear its very simple to analyze .....Draw fib on hourly TF I am targeting 61.8% support level there because price failed to break previous swing high.Trade safe
