rechecking usdx , at a sr , just nominal , a correction still in demand but weekly likely get refuge to better support at lows 98.70 while 100 pullback overhead and if get a wind can do too. anyway bear pressure very strong after allegedly tanking from sr 100!! same pullback can be at much lower level , wkly support next or lows ! this bear leg should fast down type towards 97+/95+/93+ . So no easy stop bulls for pairs against Usd !!take care

Not everyone is 'Chart handy' stop making it about charts. Everyone trades differently, each have their own style. Personally myself I'm a bias trader, I read charts but I don't draw a million lines on them lol. Trade the way you are comfortable in, what other people do is not something to be concerned with.

Thank you for your analysis! Gold is struggling to establish above 1963-1965, so I won't buy until a 4H candle starts and stays above it, as we all anticipate that sweet retracement to 1938-1932 zone, and I won't be trapped.

exactly! Only input or opinions are needed, as there are many ways do to things successfully, or to "skin a cat", so to speak. This should be a green room where any input could be appreciated

DXY under 100 should be a cause for concern for bulls.

Just thought I'd give you guys a correlation matrix of the XAUUSD and DXY. This is taken using the close prices of all 1 hour candles for 2023. The is a negative correlation of -0.72. Keep in mind that this doesn't take into account the distance of individual moves or candle size, it's purely looking at close prices over time and nothing else.

So while there is a clear negative correlation as you'd expect. If you look at the price of XAUUSD when it was 2000, when it was this price, the DXY was <101 at some time, but it was also around 103.5 at other times.

EURUSD makes up about a little over 50% of the DXY value, does that factor into this in some way?

Damn, thanks for putting thus together, it is definitely negatively correlated! The risk premia was higher then due to the SVB and other banks' crises, people flocked to Gold then. What I have learned is that if the 2Y and 10Y US treasury notes are going up, and DXY does the same then Gold suffers heavily, and vice versa, but global news can change all that in a moment.

As d1zzy and Raven asked...This includes the EURUSD and the 10yr US Treasure price (not yield). All the data is from Dukascopy up to 30th June. It would take me some time to update my dataset up to today. I keep wanting to learn how to use Interactive Broker Python API, which should allow me to use much more real-time data I believe, but just haven't got round to it yet.

How many patterns can you see?

Don't know if you are in the US, but if not I'd highly recommend IC Markets as your broker using one of their Raw Spread accounts. The spread is much smaller which is a big advantage if you're into scalping. This is my spread at the moment.
