Hi MrFranciful! sorry for your account loss but I am not able to understand why you are making position during this range period......Market is getting ready for the big move by accumulating the price from so long time and Economic Event ahead. In Range zone its better to pick tiny moves and gain some profit and if not feel easy with that better to sit aside instead loose your hard earnings until your mindset is not clear about the price action. Be cool..... It's best time to take back your all losses from the market. So stay calm and revise your strategy once again.Happy Trading.

Because I don't know that it's going to range or when it's going to trend.

It's been in this range for about 48 hours now. How am I meant to figure out that it's going to range ahead of time, so that I don't think it's going to either trend down or up and therefore no open a position? How am I meant to know not to enter a trade because it's not likely to go anywhere. You only know that it's in a range after it has been ranging, not before.

After such a strong move down in the dollar it's reasonable to assume it will retrace as we are often told that markets don't move in a straight line (until they do).

No I am extremely bullish on gold, but that laso doesn't mean that I'm just going to buy for the next 2 years

I have watch your position trading and you are a absolute good trader but you are missing the key levels on you chart that's why you are not able to determine the range.Price is ranging between 1954 to 1963 are from more than 48 hours and price are being sharply rejected from there again and again...for check the sharp price reaction check it on lower time frame like 1M,5M and 15 etc.It will clear the range in less period of time instead of big time frames.Trade safe

market moves as they want, its not based on some imaginary lines etc. Ofc there is some tops and bots, but its still on them if they decide to go lower or higher. remember you fighting againist highly inteligent people who wants your money. i also expecting correction on gold after 300 pips move, but i dont thing we can get it, because even if we get little bit correction (yesterday news - it was corrected before you even can think about trade)

mr fanciful...i alluded to your kind of situation last night how forex brokers use their charts to "trick" and confuse people... i dont know your situation but i think youd definitely be better with a real futures broker trading micro gold instead of trading cfds spread betting if thats what you do in u.k.

look at those two charts at every swing.. oanda exaggerates everytime to shake out weak hands

oh and one more thing...in this post you show a 15 and 5 min chart https://www.forexfactory.com/thread/...2#post14498082 .... stay to the chart you used to enter...if you analysed on a 15min chart and went long for example stop switching to the 5 because its easier to get scared out..

save your sanity by avoiding the 1 or 5 unless youre scalping for 10 to 20 pips

1963 rejected strongly once again. I feel we are going down. But not sure until 1953 breaks and hourly candle closes below it.

Edited: i found the reason. why 1954.3 rejected.. because of sideways.. my reason is valid thats why tested again the 1962-3 level..
