I mean, the 1 minute chart, right NOW on GBPJPY is one of their most perfect expansion plays I have seen recently.

Gathering fish.

regarding your "ps": we're all here to learn and help each other as much as we can, so I'm always willing to explain my charts to anyone.

explaining the chart: it's all about measuring

it's GJ H4 using last year high/low division to 1/8th's (Aqua) good for swings, and since they are large size, they also divided by 1/8th's (Gray) good for daytrading and scalping.

the levels are fixed for all TF's , just to know where the price is according to last year (25% 50% 75% .....)

BB (yellow) is what meant by monthly(120) as Direction and Range. lower TF's might have other settings to fit the trading style like weekly(120) for H1 or daily(96/48) for M15/M30 or even H4/H8(session)(48/96) for M5.

zigzag is time-based (whatever wave size fit the trading style)

multi stochastics using sequence of 1 2 4 to measure waves top/bottom (fixed for all TF's)

OsMA as diverging tool (fixed for all TF's but better in higher TF's)

knowing the basics of each method will organize the reading of the market. (might need some practice to perfect the sync of reading)

reading the market has nothing to do with trading, but it helps traders to build their strategies based on what they read.

btw, GJ last year range is 2396 pips
major 1/8th size 299.5 pips
minor 1/8th size 37.4 pips

That’s why I enjoy seeing & talking to other traders.


While I’m trading down in the dirty old engine-room lol, the washing-machine if you like.

First trade 05:00 waiting for the market to come back to the large candle target top left then rode a little too long for a +7p.

2nd trade was AFTER the London open move, I waited till the “probability” of a flip back was alleviated, direction confirmed,
Got in on the back of the move, get out at Yesterday’s New York Open level +10p
(price CAN go lower from there, but that NYO level point is a 99% ‘lock’ imo, no pressure, trade closed, job done)

+17p day when I seek a +15p day, it seems crazy all so quick but job all done now, my day is over,
tho I will watch the mechanics for a little longer, can learn still & it's a bit of fun, but no fomo and no wish for more (OR to give any back lol).

I'm not a fan of trading the Asian session, too tight and slow for me, also I'm sleep at the time, so no harm done

I always wait for a sync in reading within London trying to catch best wave of the day, just like GU now.

Yep, I've got it now. You are Larger Swing Trading, excellent, nice (not monthly Insitutional style).

Asia is slow for sure, City Of London closed but the Tokyo centre is open. They are happy to give away 5-10 pips in the early ranges I have observed over time.

Now London, different kettle of fish for me, as while you are looking for the sweet waves & swings, I cannot be up for the extra hours now inside those gyrations with the sometimes 30-40 pip pullbacks, flash spikes, fake runs etc but YOU will definately get the larger piece of the pie than at my disposal for sure, well done.

I have structured all my trading now - a/c, leverage, lot size - around grabbing/scalping/(small swings) for 15 pips a day and then I am finished and done.
(20p is 1% on a/c).

I will still watch the charts from a distance now, over my right shoulder lol, while I am NOW enjoying an ale and replaying the ladies PGA In Singapore Round One which I recorded earlier on Foxtel.

The 2nd day of the Month and the new GBPJPY Monthly levels are established, I will see how close the Market got to them in New York lol when I wake tomorrow.

don't get me wrong, I do both but it depend on the starting point.

to me, London wave is a scalp because it might be within the daily range without breaking it.

2-3 days swing or more will have to start by breaking the daily range after a strong trend, if it slow down and squeeze within the weekly range then that's the end of it. but if it look strong and break the weekly, I'll stay with it some more. it's all about the reading.

I know timezones does not help some traders so they have to adapt.

And also Kev/Bluesteele who I remember telling me one day that he & George spent a whole day themselves pouring over charts and establishing working trading skills on just DAILY candles as an exercise in learning (and using the same market mechanic principles as on lower timeframes).


But in trading though, I still like to be in and done early enough, quick if possible. When I was horseplaying properly for about twenty years I had my skillset honed to the quick sprint races (well up to one mile/1600m). I had little interest in the longer distance races.
So I think I brought that mentality style with me to Forex currency trading 5 yrs ago.

Now if I was 20 years younger I probably would take the market on all night long on GJ lol hahaaa. But I am past sitting up all night now, but I do love the markets as to me it is 80% thinking & visual once we have put the 20% maths away after it has done ’its’ good job.

I'll let you get back to the trading Kwt (or the gym lol, sorry hahaa).

in our culture we have a saying: polite asking is half the knowledge.
and you my friend, mastered that

everything about trading is free in the internet, but Asking make shortcuts and save time (without the arguments of course)

it's always a pleasure talking to experienced traders, maybe we'll squeeze some info from Andy and Kev

and no worries about your trading, any trading style that make profits from the market is good.

I stopped the Gym since you said no sparring :/

Do all the good folk over 90 not need ANY sleep hours. Or does it just become irrelevant for them
