-It has already been determined that simulated slippage is applied to reflect real market conditions. This is understood and not a bad thing.

Right now, from my observations and usage of various prop firms. I can only confirm that eightcap real-4 server has fake slippage on it, so you can assume that any company using that server is doing dodgy things. I believe Navk has experience on another server also on eightcap that suggests the same. Blueberry markets which is also using eightcap also has slippage that is worse than market and random at times (I have used them in the past).

For C-trader, it is part of the OTB to have dealer options that include widening quotes and slipping quotes on a tiered basis. It has to be there because if you operate a b-book you need the ability to at least simulate close to market conditions. Otherwise, arbitrage, tick scalping and other nefarious means of trading will be rampant. Its the brokers only defense against those who try to spoil it for everyone else.

The only time these defense mechanisms are bad is when it affects a large number of customers who are not participating in such negative things. I believe in the case of eightcap real-4 it is affecting everyone, all the time.

I can confirm I am on real-2 with TFTP and do not experience the issues being described. I actually get positive slippage in a fast moving market. Keep in mind, my exits are with limit orders (TP) and I am sure I use way less leverage than most.

If you have a demo environment (or simulated live account), then execution times, slippage and so forth must be simulated or manipulated in some way in order to provide real market conditions. This seems understood and accepted, in most cases, as it should be.

But then, how can slippage be properly calculated? Based on what order book or liquidity? If the order book that is being used is a real book where trades on a demo account are not having any real effect, then any simulated slippage must be artificial. Right?

I do not understand how it all works, but it would seem to me that a firm may not be so keen on providing Ctrader unless they were able to continue implementing similar protective measures, or at least have some other way of protecting themselves against bad actors.

Contrary to what some might think, this is not an attack on firms, this is just an attempt to objectively understand what may be possible. Because I agree, if such measures are not possible, then it would only take a few bad apples to ruin it for the rest of us, which would not be good.

I also experience this in 8cap.
On Funded Next live 4 I get between 1.5 and 1.9 pips slippage in EURUSD, London session, out of news time, even for small lots (1 or 2) while in TFT Live I get nothing compared to that, if any.
It's clearly something parametrized.

I think the5ers have good spread. I have noticed EURUSD at 0 spread most of the time.

Firstclassforexfunds is scamming. It is a company using eightcap and deel. Anyone who criticizes them is banned. They have changed the rules like 8 times in the last week and have essentially stopped allowing people to communicate with them, there are some payouts pending almost a month now and no one can use their account if they are owed a payout.. I recommend everyone stay far far away from them.

My MFF live account is over a year old, so I don't think your statement is accurate but I would be interested to see evidence of it outside of news time.

cTrader has always had demo accounts reflecting the actual available liquidity. Therefore I couldn't understand all the traders' cheating prop firms have been fighting on MT platform. It was never possible on cTrader. The trading experience is nearly identical on cTrader demo and live account.

Right, but the cTrader dealer add-on should only be available to brokers, not prop firms? As cTrader demo accounts simulate the market conditions I assume prop firm should not have a need for that add-on anyways? If prop firms have their LPs connected to the Spotware cloud then the demo accounts for their traders should reflect the LP latency and VWAP price (slippage) without any additional tweaking

But i have no real experience with how all this really works, it's all based on what i read here and there...

If their DD rule is equity and balance you probably went over the limit during an active trade. Very easy to do

-But even with accurate liquidity, I have to assume that the slippage cannot be totally accurate and has to be simulated to some degree since trades that occur in a demo environment do not impact actual liquidity. And if that is true, and traders have access to that data, then they can easily exploit it in their favor. Is this correct or not?

In order to supply liquidity to a third party platform, you need to run dealer. If you use generic pricing like spotware or Metaquotes pricing, you will get severely murdered by the cheating guys.

Honestly, I don't know. I always believed Spotware was NOT using generic pricing on the demo accounts and therefore that the cheating techniques from MT did not work with cTrader demo accounts. I never tried using them, I can only say the demo accounts "feel" very much the same like the live accounts. How exactly this is achieved I don't know but I assumed the "simulation" takes place on the Spotware side so that brokers cannot manipulate it. Even when b-booking (DD, market maker model, whatever it is called) is used by the broker, the trading platform should not allow brokers to manipulate the orders in their favor, according to what Spotware always proclaims. Which I understand as they should not be allowed to add more slippage or latency or whatever to the individual orders. But maybe I'm wrong about how I understand all that
