When I began trading CFD I invested 800$ which after 5 months of trading became 90000$ and that is absolutely true. I swear. I remember that I had many unpleasant discussions with some members which called me a liar and a spammer etc.
However, I didn’t read the whole article and I don’t know how long time this little guy used to generate a 43% profit.
I used 5 months to increase 800$ to 90000$ which equals a return of 11250%.
One and a half moth later I was about to lose everything but fortunately I managed to get back to break even and recovered the 90000$, after which I took about a month break to decide whether or not I will continue to trade.
After revising my strategy, I decided to continue. After another six months trading my account grew up to $450K.
Today I don’t trade as aggressive as I did before and I try to avoid keeping more than $100K in my accounts.
Take is easy guys because mister margin call is a brutal and a money thirsty killer.

Long time no see... What’s up?
10% a month? Yeah why not! Then I don’t need to trade more than 5-8 days a month.
Pal I make between 1% and 2% daily. Many years ago I made around 3% per day, but that’s too risky. As I said (and you know that btw), I was about lose everything. I reduced the risk by around 60% but still I make really comfortable profit of 1% to 2% per day in average. This is huge.
Look here:
If you start with 1000$ and make in average 1,5% a day you will end up the month (22 trading days) with 1387$.

Here is how the profit is calculated:

1000 x (1.015)^22

This makes 38.7% gain for the month

Some people would think “You can go like this unlimited and make insanely much money”. Unfortunately not. The reason is - As the balance increases, you need to increase the size of your positions, but this is not unlimited as you need to pay double margin requirement if the total size of your positions is bigger than 120 lots. This is where you have to stop, withdraw the half and start again. You can avoid this inconvenience if you divide your capital into several accounts, but this is another topic.

I consistently made an average of about 2% ROI per day for 7 weeks until I hit some unlucky trades. By the end of 2 months, my average was 1.62% per day (compounded). I made exactly 100% ROI in 2 months. Just from mostly careful trading. Now, I'm trying more risky high leveraged trading with even better results (if I survive). I'm still trying to be as careful as possible with the high leverage. My goal is now 1100% in 2 months (10x), which will require an average of 5.7% ROI per day compounded. So far, it's looking pretty easy, if my current trade will favor me in the end....

Some great real life personal narratives from @NotaTrader and others above.
But tructh is very few people understand the math of trading. No matter how much probability edge your system and risk management skills give you.. most folk forget about that thing we NEVER talk about here ---- LUCK.
The probability edge and risk management skills skilled traders bring to the table REDUCES the LUCK element. But it can NEVER eliminate it.

Hi!
Well it’s simple. Whatever your leverage is you need to pay margin requirement when you open a position. The margin requirement depends on the leverage of your account. As soon as the total size of your positions exceed 120 lots the broker requires double margin requirement on every next position that you open.

Let say you have several positions with a total size of 119 lots where the margin requirement is for example around 500$ per lot.
Next open a position you have to pay 1000$ per lot margin requirement.

No problem mate. I’ve heard this before. Anyway I am glad I I could help.
As I have said many times before I don’t even need to tell this.
I've been helping many people on this forum to find better ways to trade and I will continue to do this whenever I can.

I just thought the “pain in the ass” people were gone from this forum. I see I was wrong.

You know what? I don’t need to lie to you nor you need to meet me with skepticism. This is just sad. You could instead ask me how do I do that and I would probably tell you some of my secrets. Instead of that, I will just let you wonder how the hell I make this kind of profit.

Every round is one month and the starting capital is 2000$?
The winner made 2.6% in average per day. The second place man made less than 2% per day while the third (if I recall correctly) made around 0.7% per day. And these people are just normal day traders like me and many others on this forum.
Making 1.5% Daly is not a fantasy. However for you probably is.

Beside that, 1.5% of 1000$ is 15$. If, during one day, you cannot make 15$ profit having 1000$ in your balance then you should stop trading.

Be careful mate. Just be careful. Don’t push so much. No need to prove anything. Be contended with 1% - 2% daily. This is more than enough and more than a lot of people can dream of.

In the case of my situation the broker’s name is IG and the incremental margin requirement applies to professional client.
The link that I provide above is from CMC markets.
I don’t know whether or not every broker has similar margin policy, but I assume everyone does. The ones I’ve been using do have this kind of policy and they are IG, CMC and IC.
Since you don’t know about that it means you are a small trader who has never had enough money and profit to come up to this kind of levels.

I've seen contests on other brokers sites and the winners are usually in 1000%+ range. They are on demos of course and the participants take huge risks. Is this competition on real or demo accounts?
I tried to find out but they want you to register first. I suppose I can register an account and go tru the whole process but it's easier to ask you.

I'm guessing it is real account and the competition's purpose is to attract new customers.

I think they trade on a demo account, but with certain restrictions which makes them follow rules about risk, leverage etc in order to recreate a live account environment. I know a woman from Australia working in the company. She told me there are rules to follow and if breached you are disqualified. Said that, 2.6% daily is quite impressive in my mind knowing you need to follow very strict rules. I am a profitable trader on my own platform and my own system, but I don’t think I would’ve made 2.6% a day if I had to follow those rules. The contest is over now, but I can ask her to send me the set of rules if still available and I can send it to you.

I trade on Oanda which is in the USA and regulated, so they won't screw me over. I only have 50x leverage, not 100x or 500x

Just sayin', Ray Dalio is considered one of the best investors ever... He averaged 11.13% over 3 yr annualized. His fund grew 98% over 7yr. Reasonable for sure. BUT this gives a better benchmark of possible gains VS a story like this that says 43%... does not say over what time frame. AND as mentioned by Notatrader, it is easy to have gains and then lose it all (glad he was able to recover before that happened). Consistency is far more important than maybe this flash in the pan. These kind of articles tend to make new traders feel like they are not doing well. I figure if you can match Dalio success, you are doing pretty well. And quite a few here do much better, they are just very quiet about it. The most successful people i know NEVER spend much time (if any time) showing off their success. They just quietly do their work.

Depends how you define returns. Leveraged or unleveraged? Massive difference.

How can you say 43% returns unleveraged is bad? Just for example.

Lots of traders have made 1000%s in returns based on highly leveraged initial account balance.

Exploit a brokers new sign on bonus and you could even make infinite % returns.

I have no idea what this is.

However you've missed the point. Your maths is wrong.

If I make 52% in a month (closing balance vs starting) or an average of 2.6% per day.... you can't say that's the same as:

Starting balance x (1.026)^20

Because you won't make 2.6% each and every day.

So posting garbage like:

Makes you sound like a bit of a cowboy. Not saying you are one, but have some self awareness please.

Agreed. Did you know that within the limits of chance, it is possible to reap a winning streak by hopping on one leg x number of times and entering trades (buy/sell) on even or odd counts that stamina and or muscular stability allows? Or even selling and buying based on the phases of the moon? Very similar to using fundamental analysis which is akin to reading the future (market) by the entrails of dead animals. Anything that is cyclical allows you to win by chance (even get rich) if by chance your timing device coincides with the phases of its cyclicality. But of course chance is not something you need in trading unless you are gambling.
