Hi, as I know, there is few choices for forex in US markets, Gain capital? IG? or Ad? IB?

Oanda is not good at FX Pairs and Metals, but it did a great work with Indices, US30, NAS100, the spreads is the lowest I can find, with much more rebates( up to $27/100 contracts) than other brokers having higher spreads.

Anyway, use the one that is suitable to you

That is unfortunate. Oh well. I guess I will stay where I am. Oanda works for me even if it is expensive. Been with them for many years and never had a issue. Yep finance charges are high if you trade past 2 pm PST each day. Spreads are not the lowest even with my premium account. It got a little worse after they got bought out by CVC. However, the offshore options I have found have not convinced me to move my business offshore. I'm fine with 50:1 leverage. I actually been using it since before it was the max in the United States. As for everything else, cost of doing business in the USA. I do worry about account protection but what I can do? Quit trading?

I wish you would just name your broker or one broker we can look at so we can get an idea of what it is your talking about. I read your thread. I agree with you. But let me ask you. If US traders left all the USA based traders and joined the brokers you are with or talking about, would that not help us as these brokers would lose money? I don't get why you wont help those you are trying help?

Guess it does not matter since you quit this thread.

Oanda's EUR/USD stopped printing prices for 15 mins. Wow. Just wow.

It stopped pricing on Oanda web platform and TradingView.

I just live chatted with the customer service rep, and she said... "It works on our end on desktop platform".

I just tried, and cannot login in MT4, v20 server, Oanda AU, for some mins

but now, it is running, 15:47 in server time

Lol. But in any case, the client rep ack that there was an outage. But really weird because it only happened to eur/usd. Other pairs seemed to be fine

Have you seen this message from OANDA today?

"Over the next few weeks we will be upgrading all our FX instrument pricing, on a phased basis."
Wonder what upgrading means, surely they will get cheaper right?

I also wonder but since I mainly trade on D1 charts the rest of the sentence could seriously affect my trading "To accomplish this there is a possibility of prices being unavailable for a maximum of 30 minutes at the end of certain trading days.".

Actually i have a question for you, since now i started to trade on Day charts myself i was wondering should i add CHF pair to the mix.
But i am very, very hesitant to touch that pair because of Swiss central bank tendency to manipulate and gap the market for couple of
thousands pips and i dont know if its worth to lose any sleep over this.
What`s your take on this?

After the debacle of the Swiss National Bank floating the CHF in 2010 I'm like you and don't trust it. I don't trade anything that has CHF in it

Yes, the CHF is worthless to trade. Whatever trade you want to trade in CHF, simply trade the EUR cross, example if you want to buy USDCHF, simply sell EURUSD, buy GBPCHF, sell EURGBP. Since EURCHF barely moves it's the same trade essentially, but without the risk of the Swiss bank and also way cheaper if you're holding overnight as swap is way lower.

Beware of this broker. I attempted to withdraw my funds and I was denied because I am first "required to exhaust my Debit Card withdrawal limit". Now I already did this because a few weeks ago I withdrew my initial deposit of $2000 back into my debit card. In other words, the funds I am attempting to withdraw now are my profits which are approximately $500.

Yesterday I attempted to withdraw this $500 but apparently I can only withdraw to my debit card an amount less than or equal to my initial deposit of $2000, which I already did a few weeks back. Hence I was not allowed to move this extra $500 profit into my debit card. After chatting with a live agent, he suggested that I do a bank transfer which I initiated yesterday but got the denial email today for the reason mentioned above.

It seems they're using all types of tricks to prevent this profit leaving their account. I will speak with another live agent soon and post updates

UPDATE: I spoke with an agent again and my fears about this broker are confirmed. I used to have an old debit card which is still registered in their system and they told me I would need to withdraw the funds to this card. However this card is already expired and it's from a bank that I don't use anymore since I closed my checking account with them long ago. The agent told me that I will need to get an official letter from this bank stating that the debit card is not active anymore. I will attempt to get this letter but it's possible that the bank won't even have any records of it anymore.

This is despite the fact that I have a new debit card now which I used for my last deposit, and despite the fact that I have 2 verified bank accounts registered with oanda to which I can transfer the funds to.

Like I said, they are using all kinds of methods to prevent profits from leaving their account. Be very careful with this broker and all forex brokers in general

I never had any problem withdrawing profits but please keep us informed so we won't face the same situation.
