they are valid if price returns to the level, even candles later.

the level is to be drawn at candle 1 and not candle 2 as shown in your examples.
in your last picture, the level is on the close of green candle 1 for swing high short,
and the open of green candle 1 for swing low long.

What you describe are bullish / bearish engulfing candles : keep it simple, it works.

i am trading since more than 30years and still have issues with SL. so dont worry, its part of the game. its a psychological thing that u have to cope with. over the years u will learn it...or not. then u will be dropped out of the game like 98% of the people here. its a natural process of only the best will survive. only a handful will be turtles out of 1000 eggs. the same is with trading and u have to be aware of it.

Now maybe someone can share with us their ideas about moving initial SL during the day after the BE?
this is apart from this thread.
there is no right or wrong way of placing trailing stops.
just sharing ideas with 2 options out of many. the example is a trending one.
1. fractals - when the lower fractal is taken out, stop loss above the upper fractal ..... until taken out.
2. moving average - exit when candle close above the moving average. 2 averages shown, one shorter, the other longer.

4 swing low buy is correct. 5 is swing low best sell instead of best buy. it was a powerful buy level with the combination of the two methods when candle closed above the 2 levels.

post 1276 correct for both. notice that there were 2 chances each. one at close of candle 3, the other when price came back to the level. entries could also be taken at a lower time frame candle close.
post 1277. the 123 method is correct. as before, the best buy, best sell, you had them in reverse.

below is a summary of the 3 methods i had made sometime ago.
if you are confuse on the best buy best sell, it can be interpreted as:

Swing high Best Buy is at highest Bullish bar low
Swing low Best Sell is at lowest Bearish bar high

1 can be found from post 441 onward. 2 and 3 can be found in post 1.
