DJ30 & DAX took a smashing the past 2 days but it was always going to happen.

Going to long DJ30 under 27265 once it finds some sort of base.

In long on DAX @ 12940 from under the swing low on 1st Nov, untested move away until today, target 13080, just under the today swing high.

I'm (counter) long in the DOW E Mini Futs @ 425/just above the 1st Wk November Weekly POC @ 400 zone . Bounced from there (so far).
Took profit @ T1 & T2.
T3 +210p
1 lot left running/+100p locked in
+150p locked in
FLAT +150p last lot

Free ride to the upside. Maybe 650/750 zone/November Monthly POC zone.
Daily RTH GAP up to fill to Dec 2 low/750 zone.

(27.500 is the road block/Res, level now)

From last Wk high/28.200 to this Wk low approx 900p drop. A 50% recovery should be at 27.750/800 zone, which is this Wk Dev POC @ 27.800

If the 27.500 can not be be crossed upwards, the DOW could drop further to Oct Monthly POC (Support) zone 27.000>26.800

US futures rise on report that US-China trade deal is moving closer


The U.S. and China are moving closer to agreeing on the amount of tariffs that would be rolled back in a phase-one trade deal despite tensions over Hong Kong and Xinjiang, people familiar with the talks said.

The people, who asked not to be identified, said that U.S. President Donald Trump’s comments Tuesday downplaying the urgency of a deal shouldn’t be understood to mean the talks were stalling, as he was speaking off the cuff.


How many times have we been here before already? Anyway, he makes the markets move "when he speaks off the cuff"

Meanwhile, France and the wider European Union have promised to retaliate against potential U.S. tariffs on French goods. The U.S. Trade Representative announced Monday a list of French goods that could see tariffs of up to 100%. The decision came after France introduced a digital services tax, which the U.S. argues treats U.S. tech companies unfairly. Other European countries, including the U.K. have plans to impose a digital tax.

Hello Daxy -I just came across your posts and charts. Your charts look similar to mine except that I use one minute candles. I assume Renko do not use time thus 'Swing' refers to size of Renko bar ?

On the EURUSD only thread my reaction to the picture below was ROTFLMAO It really looks like that market participants have no clue about how foreign policy and the financial system work. The result is that fools make it easier for us to make money!

Indeed Renko is not time based. A new Renko brick is only plotted when the price is changing.
A Minute chart keeps plotting candles every X Minutes, even if there is no price change.

That means that if the price should remain in a 100 point (sideways) range for a long period (lets say a Day), you see only one 100 Renko bar plotted on a Renko 100 brick size chart.

If I should use a 1 Minute candle chart for the same sideways period on the same Day, you should see 1440 one Minute candles in a row (24 Hrs * 60 Min) in the same sideways 100 point range.

Every MA line (also Ichimoku indi) is based on the previous period.

So the calculation for the MA line(s) is totally different for a Renko chart and for a Minute chart.
You will never be able to get your MA lines at the same level for both Renko and Minute charts.

A 100 period MA line will look back to 100 plotted candles and if these candles are plotted in a sideways 100 point range, your MA line will turn flat after 1440 one Minute candles.

The 100 brick size Renko chart will plot one 100p bar only during that sideways Day and therefor there is not much to calculate for your MA line. Only significant price change will make the MA line move to an other level on the Renko chart.

So for my "Swing" charts I use a 50 to 100 Renko brick size with slow responding/smoothed T3 MA lines.
It takes a lot of Renko bricks to get the T3 MA line curved to an other direction.

So the cross of the price over a T3 MA line is many times a (very) good entry. Often break outs
A channel of two T3 MA lines on a Renko chart is even better. I take (Swing trade) entries OUTSIDE the T3 MA channel.
Scalp trades above/below the Ichi cloud.


If you scroll back to post 4904 you will see on the screen shots of the DOW Renko charts what I mean (I hope)
Its much easier to stay in a Swing trade with a Renko chart then with a Minute chart IMHO.
MA lines do only react on a serious price change on the Renko chart.


The Minute chart with Ichimoku indi I use for scalping only most of the times.


I wish you good luck with your one Minute chart . You need to be very fast with the mouse to jump in somewere. Price goes all over the place. To much noice.

My fastes Minute scalp chart is 15 Minute. In volitile jumpy markets 30 Minutes.

Dax -thanks for such a detailed reply. Much appreciated. Very true regarding time and Renko - I believe Range Bars are also independent of time. Certainly worth looking at from a traders perspective. Thanks again, Dax, for taking the time to make a detailed reply.

I have never used Range bars seriouusly, so I can't tell much about them.

The more important is to detect price movement/sideways ranges on whatever chart or time frame.

Use whatever suits you the best.
