Multi-factor authentication is a must for any crypto exchange.

Hardware keys (eg YubiKey) are the best, OTP codes (eg Google Authenticator) are the next best.

Some time has passed since leak. There are no major consequences for now. Anyway, I haven't heard anything about it.
