Now bitcoin is at 9700 and so far it is confidently holding under 10,000. I see that after the news about Fibra, cryptocurrency does not feel confident. Nevertheless, the US government will try to regulate the blockchain and electronic currencies, because this is the way to security. But regulation will break the cryptocurrency market, since the only thing left of them is the blockchain technology. As I said earlier, the future is in the blockchain, not in Bitcoin.
The unique position that bitcoin is putting these governments in is that they can't get rid of it. But, they can regulate it. The way to regulate bitcoin is through transparency. I believe the world has and will continue to shift towards transparency, and cryptocurrencies can actually facilitate that. The governments want to collect taxes and limit illegal activity. Once there's some transparency and the governments know a little more about it, it'll come. Not all cryptos can be regulated, for different reasons, and they will probably get squeezed out at some point.
I don't think anybody knows how this market will unfold. There are different schools of thought. A popular thinking is that there will be sectors, similar to the stock market, where certain cryptos have utility that serves a specific market. We are so early, still in this markets infancy. It's going to be exciting to watch it unfold.
