Short-term trend: Bearish

BTC outlook remains bearish, as the cryptocurrency is yet to invalidate the lower highs setup with a move above $10,956 (Aug. 20 high).

That level is unlikely to be scaled in the next few days and the cryptocurrency could fall below $9,000, as the $400 bounce seen in the last four days lacks substance trading volumes have dropped.

Further, signs of bullish exhaustion have emerged on the longer duration charts and key indicators have turned bearish for the first time since February.
All-in-all, the path of least resistance is to the downside. The bearish case would weaken if prices rise above $10,000 with high volumes.

Long-term trend: Neutral

Bitcoin's monthly chart shows a double inside bar pattern – August’s candle falls within July's high and low and July’s candle is engulfed by June's high and low.
Double inside bars indicate indecision and lack of volatility and are considered a sign of bullish exhaustion, if they occur after a notable price rally, which seems to be the case here.

Also, the selling volume witnessed in July was the highest since March 2018. So, the long-run outlook stands neutralized.
A break above the high of the first inside bar ($13,200) is needed to revive the bullish outlook and a move below the low of the first inside bar ($9,049) will confirm a bearish reversal.

Nice perspective here. Thanks for sharing. Changes my outlook a bit. Happy to be on the sidelines a bit here until we see a break in one direction.

Does anyone here invest a decent amount in BTC? I drop a couple hundred here and there when the chart looks favorable but it sure does have the same feeling as when I belly up to the blackjack table...

I have invested in a few BTC. If your not trading, drop a couple hundred here and there into BTC, don't look at the charts, check your balance in 3 to 5 years.

Short-term trend: Neutral

Bitcoin's recovery from $9,320 to $10,500 has neutralized the immediate bearish outlook. The price rise is backed by an uptick in bitcoin's dominance rate.

Trading volumes, however, tell another story, and suggest the recovery seen in the last four days could be short-lived.

The green bars (buying volumes) seen in the last four days on the hourly chart below are smaller compared to the red bars (selling volumes) seen during bitcoin’s drop to one-month lows on Aug.29.

A fall back to levels below $10,000 cannot be ruled out. The outlook would turn bullish if prices invalidate the bearish lower highs setup seen on the daily chart with a high-volume move above $10,956 (Aug. 20 high). That would could yield a rally to $12,000.

I do and I scaled in the same way that it sounds like you are.

It doesn't feel like blackjack to me. Trading anything intraday with retail brokers can feel like blackjack to me - quick wins and losses where you know the odds are stacked in the houses favor. Investing piecemeal over a long time frame in a new technology feels more like taking a business risk in my opinion. As long as you believe in the cause you just have to come to terms with how much you are willing to lose if the business goal is never attained.

Would short it a little... to let's say... SELL, TP10.50 (or lower), price now 10.64 (reference) but let's not be greedy, 1% change would be sufficient.. even if broker takes 0.5%... multiplied with leverage... (if the other side holds.. aka turning radius.. meaning SL doesn't get hit before TP... is not bad at all... you can see sample of similar trade in my TradeList...
Can you afford to take that chance?
