I am curious if we have the opposite retail effect post-Christmas. Meaning, there were multiple reports that coincidently 100's of thousands of coinbase and other accts were created and then we obviously saw a massive run up as wires came in from brokerage accounts to buy BTC's after Thanksgiving. The question is when the younger generation/gets with the older generation at the dinner table in a few days sharing laughs Bitcoin will be discussed. Let's hope the younger crowd can convince the retiree or recently re-fi'ed my house to buy bitcoin individual will be reassured. Otherwise, I suspect we will see an opposite affect over the next two weeks where it continues lower. It seems to have based now a bit here so the try-hards can stop hitting refresh on their screens and checking pointless tweets about BTC

I have been asked this question a lot today as people know I have ten of them and still hold them and will continue to hold them.

But here is the simple truth of why it's crashed from its all time high of just under 20,000

It's a simple law we must all understand;

Very rich people with lots of money put in lots of money, which convinced stupid people with little money to put money in, the value went up, the rich people took out their money and the poor stupid people remain stupid and poor.

This is why the value of bitcoin has plummeted.

Have a great Christmas

Remember;

"Bitcoin does crash. Each "crash" has been followed by an increase of: 76%, 237%, 183%, 165%, 152%. Bitcoin takes 7 steps forward, 2 steps back, 7 steps forward, 2 steps back.

Relax and BUY bitcoin.

Get ready and ride the next wave up.

Edited due to my incompetence :-)

I usually do not answer this kind of posts but....

In September it was 3k..... it went up to 19.7k since then... do you expect something so volatile not to correct....
For the volatility of bitcoin this is not a crash... if you place the fib...is it at 50% of the move it made since September?
50% is not a crash it is called a correction which I mentioned in post 3:

"Do not forget the crypto market at the moment is very volatile... so a correction of up to 35% is normal...a buying opportunity ....to me of course..."

So this is a little more than normal..... and do you really think you are the ONLY one that thought it would pullback after such a parabolic move....

Now if it turns and goes below 8k and closes there... then that would be a crash for me.... and still, it is not even close to the 3k where it started....
it is 400% + higher...

Below is the example you showed us...it went from 4.5 to 1.8 approx....one third of the value.... yes that is a crash... but this bit correction is not

How it’s 7 steps forward and 2 steps back? I don’t see any consequence like this.

That's how George Soros used to be in the 90s before crashing the Asia market.
Like, he keep appearing in TV broadcast and newspaper, leading the troops to mass buy on a certain stock, when it reach the peak, Soros crash the price.

For how he crash Thailand, he first borrow say $1 Billion USD worth of Thai Bath from Thailand, and convert them to USD.
Say that time Thai to USD is, 25:1.

Then Soros making use of leverage from forex market crash the Thai market, making the conversion now 50:1.
Suppose, he owe Thai $1 Billion USD, now he owed only $500 Million USD. He made $500 Million USD there, he then attack Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei.....

But I believe when bank and country acknowledge the existance of Bitcoin.
$13,000 is still a low price to enter, tho I'm not a fan of Crypto.

Simply put, all things that go up must sooner or later come down.
All joking aside, now is probably the time to enter new longs if one trades Bitcoin.

How bad was this correction?
Well, let's see and compare it to past bitcoin corrections....

Here we have a daily chart with some prior corrections, we see the highlighted boxes that the price did break the 20 donchian
channel in the past and the DPO went below 0 before if continued higher, in this correction it did not break the 20 donchian and the DPO
is above 0
So here we can see how strong this correction was
Is it so strong that it will fly higher or the correction is not over and still has another leg down like in the past ?

If I do not post again Happy Holidays to All!!

May Santa bring you more Bitcoins!!!

Trust me I didn't mean to seem arrogant believe me the news caught me by surprise at work and that's the way I reacted due to the fact that I told someone Saturday that it will significantly pullback since a double top was forming at the time. But a correction that results in 40 to 60% loss is considered a crash and the time it takes to recover will verify. But hopefully it will bounce back because still want to short it

That is the biggest correction that Bitcoin has ever had and sometimes that's just the first phase. Analyze any pump and dump chart thats out there

I would love to see your trade explorer while you are shorting it even if it is on demo
(common just for fun)

I will make you a deal... I will put one only trading long if you put up one only trading short...

Not really the biggest correction. The biggest correction was at the end of 2013 when it fell from ~$1200 to $380 in a couple of days. Thats a 68.3% loss. We don't know if the pump is over yet, but we are now at "only" a 43.0% correction, which is within the "normal" range.

Its bigger than that. Regardless of what you or your friends think. Crypto is a better form of money and will drive out bad fiat money

{quote} Obviously, technically $10,000 - $12,000 is a nice spot to buy a growing thing like Bitcoin. Hopefully, we'll see more on the north side next year. Cheers!
