It must be something to have been a buyer on Sunday for USD19,800 and then to see the price differential across the exchanges right now - checkout the price on GDAX vs Bitfinex - retail premium is ridiculous!

Broker spreads are beyond ridiculous at the moment.

BTC entered dangerous waters here at 13.000, dropping -35% since the top.

If it consolidates here or rebounds up, there is no major concern (yet).

But if it breaks lower another 1.000-line or two - with January-depressive-market-mood around the corner - we might see some bigger things unfold.

I agree, even the Bitcoin perma-bulls on this thread seem to have been buyers at much lower prices, not sure how many participated in the price rise beyond USD7k.

Technically it still looks like pull-back rather than a breakdown on the daily and weekly charts.

The potential problem on the fundamental side is summed up in the article below from Bloomberg which proposes that "At the heart of the matter was a frenzied demand for coins with limited supply has now led to unsophisticated investors holding the bag at the top.".

Bitcoin has 2000+ other crytocurrencies and more every day. With better blockchain technology. The supply of cryptocurrencies is unlimited noobs

There's an old saying, when a cab driver starts talking about the market, its time to get out. A couple of days ago , the driver of the taxi I was in mentioned he was going to invest in Bitcoin, a sure thing he said. If I was in it ,I would have sold out right then.

I quoted the article directly, not my words. The originators know there is no limit to the number of crypto-currencies, just a smart way to get their hands on the savings of the older generation in Japan and South Korea who make-up 80% of the crypto-currency retail investors. Charlie Lee baled on his own crypto-currency and the so-called Bitcoin Jesus, Roger Ver flogged 90% of his Bitcoins for USD435 million. Irrespective of the price plunge, I can virtually guarantee this is not the end, the bargain hunters will be out in full force this weekend! Probably top USD17k like vaidas7777 predicts.

Bitcoin is not a bubble as the media and the G portrayed, it hasn't reached mainstream yet, far from it. However, it may not prevent it from being a very niche bubble created by only a fraction of investors with very specific demographics.

Question: What is a bubble? Does a bubble has to be a "everyone bubble" like dot com bubble, or a tiny fraction of investors is sufficient enough to create a "localized bubble"?

BTCUSD daily does not indicate that we have concluded the bull phase yet. May we trade BTCUSD for many years to come, still the most exciting trade there is.

I will be, I went long at USD12,890 on all 3 trading accounts. I will stay with the trade on my AvaTrade account over the weekend. Unfortunately Think Markets close all crypto trades at 22:00 GMT on Friday, and Pepperstone don't trade over the weekend but allow positions to be left open. I find that trading Bitcoin without being in front of the screen is just gambling, so I don't leave for more than 5 minutes when a trade is live.

looking @ H1 it feels just like a controlled decline not panic selling on huge vol so it might as well reverse during the weekend. done that a few times before.

Could well be, the velocity of the up move has fizzled, so I am out at USD13,450. Waiting to see if we retrace toward the daily EMA50 again.
