After the drop in ETH/USD during June and July, it's time to start thinking about a long swing trade. I'm looking for a clear break above the 233 level to enter. Once it does, I expect it to rise to at least around $355-$360.

ETH/USD has a bearish shorter-term bias. It's trading below the 200-day moving average. Charts (Coinbase Pro) on the 15M, 1H, and Daily time frames are all looking bearish.

The six-hour time frame shows a little bullish breakout, that could signal we might be getting some momentum in order to get closer to the entry level, above 233.

Trading one USD pair is enough for me, but looking at ETH vs BTC, BTC is killing it! I'm selling ETH for BTC... possibly long term:

Ethereum has been one of the weaker cryptos.

ETH/BTC below on a 1H and 6H show how weak it's been relative to bitcoin.

ETH/USD continues to slide. There might be some good short-term shorting opportunities, but I'm not going to short Ethereum when the overall crypto market is showing some signs of strength. Here's the ETH/USD on the 1H.

Ethereum moving higher!? This move versus Bitcoin is surprising with how weak Ethereum has been in relation to pretty much everything.

In 2017 I would watch altcoins rally vs Bitcoin after BTC hit new highs and paused to take a breath. I think there is still good play on that concept now too but to a lesser extent than in 2017.

ETH is a bit unique compared to other altcoins though and probably has been oversold recently.

Despite BTC's rally, it has still weakened against ETH, which is hurting my trade... I'm guessing that ETH had way more to gain... I'm still bearish ETH/BTC however:

ETH’s price was severely depressed starting June 27th. By mid July you had an undervalued and over reacted ETH price so that is the context I would look at on the ETH side of the pair.

Looking at the ETH side, as gforce recommended... ETH's either at resistance on a downward trendline, or it's at support, depending on how you look: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think it is going lower. Sell at 195.99. We'll see.
I think MarkGman has the right idea, the past 6 hours have been moving in your favor cityRat.

I am entering an outright short on ETH myself. If the 200 level didn't motivate buyers to catch a deal, the momentum will continue a bit longer. I am targeting just above 185 for TP.
