Online trading platforms have become a popular way investors can buy and sell digital assets, including coins and tokens offered and sold in so-called Initial Coin Offerings ("ICOs"). The platforms often claim to give investors the ability to quickly buy and sell digital assets. Many of these platforms bring buyers and sellers together in one place and offer investors access to automated systems that display priced orders, execute trades, and provide transaction data.
A number of these platforms provide a mechanism for trading assets that meet the definition of a "security" under the federal securities laws. If a platform offers trading of digital assets that are securities and operates as an "exchange," as defined by the federal securities laws, then the platform must register with the SEC as a national securities exchange or be exempt from registration. The federal regulatory framework governing registered national securities exchanges and exempt markets is designed to protect investors and prevent against fraudulent and manipulative trading practices.

Just a poll here - did anyone realised bitcoin frenzy is a dead meat now?

Does anyone figured out that this was the usual hype bloated by speculators to acquire some hard earned money of the people who “wanted their dream to quit the job”?

No.
So, Bitcoin drops now, so what? Euro drops, stock drops...
Some people simply can't see the future... no problem.

Before push the controversy any further, let's have a shallow approach:
1. Do you believe is reasonable to think that EUR/USD will ever hit $0 ?
2. Do you believe is reasonable to think that BTC/USD will ever hit $0 ?

Why not BTC/USD can't be a tradeble pair, asset as any other?
Do you think all pairs are Ponzi schemes?!lol

The Usual hype???
Like the bitcoin of 1233 during The Fifth crusade ??? , the French Revolution bitcoin ?? The Bay of Pigs bitcoin ....or that other bitcoin, that's mentioned in the bible ?? or the bitcoin they got at the Winter Olympics in Moscow 1980??? or the Greek Orthodox bitcoin that split from Roman empire under Ptolemey the 4th?? I'm confused
Explain the usual hype, bub

So bitcoin is dead?

Oh yes.

Read
https://99bitcoins.com/obituary-stats/

2010 first sad death....it was quarter dollar
https://99bitcoins.com/why-bitcoin-cant-be-a-currency/

The first 50-80 times bitcoin died, i was inconsolable... i cried forever....
Then i bought few cheap bitcoin at $300, bitcoin died another 100 times...

I see the point of keeping the position on Btc, only if you bought it last year. You can try to make more money on short races. But to start trading now is meaningless, because bitcoin has lost confidence and it is difficult to analyze.

You mean Bitcoin lost it's glamorous get-rich -tomorrow appeal.???

It sure did. Funny investors jumped at $15000 and are homeless now.

The price shows sellers about same number as buyers...
Patience
The tremendous bitcoin future is before us.

Savvy investors made part profit and still waiting for nice buy price... or moment.
Whether it's $5000-6000-7000 doesn't matter.

What matter is that sooner or later big investors will jump in, regulation will come.... options are here now....decentralized exchanges here now....

Chart below.
Target is in the 70000 area. Go Trumpy, print money

Detailed discussion in my thread.

Too bad it's due to the Winklevoss ETF getting denied.

The Winklevoss ETF would have been accessible to retail investors because it was set to 0.01 BTC per share, making it less likely to be approved. The Cboe ETF proposal(which is still pending approval on August 10th) sets each share to be worth 25 BTC — thus restricting access to accredited and institutional investors.

I think the time for Bitcoin is yet to come. It has gained a lot of negative publicity recently, and although a lot of people lost money in that bubble, but bitcoin's real potential is yet to be tested.

With all major economy's suffering, crypto can be their savior. Bitcoin has a long road ahead and if its able to deliver, the potential is endless.
