Hello guys,

This thread was created to discuss BITCOIN.

Do you believe in bitcoin? What the differences with other Cryptos?

Do you trade them? What works / doesn't work, does it come under technical analysis? What is their role in Forex?

Let's discuss. Thoughts, observations, and of course trading, this is Forex Market.
My thoughts I will write below.

The only request is to respect the opinions of others.
Thank you. Sincerely, George

It'd seem that Bitcoin is already a worn-out topic.
But still there are much more questions than answers...
Despite the fact that numerous clones of bitcoin quite spoiled its reputation, BTC is still in the ranks and has followers.
Personally I tend to believe in Bitcoin, namely, to think that it'll stay with us for a long time. There are more and more trading strategies everyday based on bitcoin trading, but I haven't traded it yet, it's like a dark horse for me.
If you trade, please share your experience.

George

Hello. I agree with you about the BTC topic. "now or never" - the slogan of the BTC at all time. A lot of traders try to find signs or signals for trading BTC but almost all of them, I think, open the trade with thought "now or never". This moment becomes true when you find out some population of something (i.e. Bitcoin) when something takes more then half of your attention by TV, friends, the internet, ect. After this point you think "why I'm not in this trend" and invest in BTC.
Thus, I don't suppose that BTC can lost his popularity. I suppose that it will increase and decrease like waves function.
The main difference is in beliefs. So, in what do you actually believe?

I don't trade bitcoin, but I have been using it for money transfers. With the volatility, it's a sketchy process for now. So far I have come out alright by timing my transactions during a lull or uptrend.
It is very convenient and takes about ten minutes, way better than a bank wire. I think it has a future but not until the volatility smooths out. And I think that bitcoin itself will not be the ultimate end game. There are cheaper, and faster coins already out with more coming along. Adoption by retailers is what will create a winner. Right now it's bitcoin.

Is there a way to go directly into stocks from cryptos like BTC, without any dollar conversion? It seems like this would be the best hedge when things get volatile.

Hey DaveP648,
Unfortunately, I don’t think this is possible at this stage, and as there is no real institution sitting behind the Bitcoin, such process will be possible in the near future.

Personally I tend to believe in Bitcoin, namely, to think that it'll stay with us for a long time. Now it's 8695 usd for 1 BTC. As for me it's still pretty much.
Of course, what to compare with.
If you look at the chart, it creates the feeling that BTC is trying to become an ordinary trading forex market tool.

100% agree. Payments are quite fast, private, which is sometimes very convenient in trader life...

Same with me.. At the moment I have friends (traders) who have been trading for about six months with BTC. They say it is fast, easy and profitable.
But I'm old school, still watching, just like you. Not that I don't trust it, maybe high volatility is matter, as Pipfu said above?

I am using a gdax account as a vehicle to park forex capital. I have 50 percent in USD at gdax. Fdic insured, and readily available for transfer. The other 50 percent is with a possibly shady, possibly legit broker. That way if I get ripped off, it's only half. I think my broker is legit though. Time will tell.

I believe that at such risks, when there is a possibility (50%) not to return the invested money, it is not worth even considering such options.
Do I believe in further development? If the news that Google will ban advertising crypto quite significantly affected the crypto-currencies, then I'm not sure that after decisive action by Google, bitcoin and other crypto-currencies will be popular.
I do not support such radical measures of this world-wide Internet giant, because there are more important problems in the services provided by this company.
Now bitcoin is on support around 8000. And there is a chance that it will rise again to 11000, but I do not know what can essentially raise the price of bitcoin.

For me, bitcoin and any other crypto currency is nothing. I consider the creation of blockchain more important for us, than crypto-currencies. From blockchain so many usefulness we can take. We can use it in payment systems, use instead SWIFT, for document exchange, for data computation and storage and more. And I believe that blochkchain is the future. If only our world lovers of prohibitions don't decide that this is evil and won't decide to ban it.

Agree whole-heartedly. Blockchain is THE thing to come out of all of this. These guys are applying blockchain to the game of cricket for example: http://community.chainblx.com/t/maki...ommunity/108/9

How do you like more and more crypto prohibitions?

Who in the subject, please share.
Who benefits from the low cost of cryptos?
All the most developed countries in the world prohibit cryptocurrency.
Why?

More and more I feel part of the crowd. Crowd who smb wants to tightly control, I mean every step, every cent.
They just do not like cryptos, they need to spend billions to control it ...
