Hey guys,
I have an interesting idea for a journal and i was just wondering what you guys think.
I'm currently a sophomore (econ major) in college and I am hoping to secure a spot after grad in Sales and Trading as a junior analyst at one of the top wall street firms. I would love to work at a spot forex desk but trading anything -commodities, options - is fine with me.
By the way, if you ever wondered how to work as a trader in a bank, college is the way to go. At top schools where there are recruiters for banks, the application and interview process is very organized and requires little effort on your part. The hiring process will still be extremely competitive which means that many potential traders and i-bankers start preparation early.
Basically in the best case scenario, I would obtain a summer sophomore-only internships at one of the big bulge bracket banks on wall street. I would work my ass off and ideally I would be offered the Junior year summer internship and eventually a full-time offer.
Internships for sophomores, however, are notoriously competitive and hard to obtain. And none of the other steps I mentioned above are very simple either.
Therefore, I would like to use this as a sort of "trading journal" for my path to be a professional trader. I feel that it will help me organize my plans more effectively and it would always be nice to take any suggestions from you guys. Additionally, i know that there are at least a couple of younger traders on this board who might benefit from this and I hope to make it an interesting read for the older folks.
So anyways, since this deviates from the usual idea of a journal in this forum, I'd just like to see what you guys think about this. If anyone has any objections (especially mods if this breaks any forum regulation or anything), please let me know and i won't do it.
Thanks guys.
