Hi everyone,
I had done a curious observation when I was browsing over the top 70 traders in FF with top % returns for 2013 (live accounts).
What amazes me is that only 1 (one of seventy!, 1.42% of the traders listed) ha its accounts grown consistently - the account balance-time "curve" is almost a straight line with ~25deg. angle. The average yearly return was around 27%. The trader has several accounts - one ~$400k, others bellow $100k. I would call that a really successful and consistent trader with evident results. That is really amazing considering the most "wise-ass", childish or naive replies in most FF forums.
Any other traders from the top 70 list either lost a big chunk of their accounts (more than 60%) and then started to recover. Or had some lucky wins in the beginning and then decline rapidly.
I would say this observation could make the difference between the real trader/investor and the get-rich-quick gambler. I definitely think consistency is much more important than couple "lucky" guesses and or successful double-downs.
Can you share your opinions on the money management and what is the realistic consistent FX gain (% per year) sustainable for 5+ yrs.
