Well, I am back with yet another system.
I have decided to start a new thread for this one. My last system was based on the TG Vorticity indicator, and then morphed into a whole new system that does not have anything to do with the TG Vorticity indicator.
I will tell you that I have only been working on this system for a little over a week. So there is not a lot of back test data that I have. I can say that I have been forward testing this system and also ran it through the simulator, both with good enough results for me to feel comfortable in sharing. Hopefully this is not a flash in the pan system.
I am a M1 trader so most of my testing has been on the M1 chart. It does appear to be good on M5 as well.
This system is basically a MA crossing system with some additional tools to help offer confirmation. I have been a big fan of the Hull MA and have used it a lot in my trading for a long time. So the Hull MA is the framework of this system. The reason for creating this system, is that we all know that MA Crossover systems work great during trending markets. But they can kill you in ranging or choppy markets. So I have been looking for a way to trade off a MA Crossover system that will only show me moves that seem to have the required "umpf" to allow me to scalp even in ranging markets. Also these indicators also act as a filter that in many times helps keep me out of a weak signal for entry. Now I realize the term "umpf" is subjective. But when I am only looking for 5 pips, there is not a ton of "umpf" needed.
I have followed a lot on Edgetraders teachings and I have incorporated the less exposure to the market theory. So I have incorporated a 5 pip TP for this system. My goal is detect solid entries with the high probability of getting into a move that has enough push to bag 5 pips. In slower markets, I have been known to have a TP of 3 pips.
TIME FRAME: M1 ( Appears to work on other TF as well. however not tested)
PAIRS: EU, GU ( These are the only pairs that I have tested).
TRADING HOURS: I trade mainly London open 3:00AM CST to about 6:30 AM CST. However if I have the time to trade longer I will go to about 10:00 AM CST.
TP: 5 Pips (This is subjective to your personal taste).
SL: Please refer to attached chart. Usually the last swing hi/low or mental stop of 10 pips. I know that this is not a conventional R/R Ratio.
EXITS: Please refer to attached chart. There are different areas that you can choose to exit based on your taste
Indicators:
CHART:
HMA Candles - (Use on a line chart to show candles)
HMA - (24, faster HMA)
HMA Russian Color - (36, slower HMA)
WINDOW #1:
HMA Histo - (24,0,3)
WINDOW #2:
MACD WITH CROSSING - (12,26,9)
Rads T3 Stochastic - 13,3,3 (White)
THV Candle Clock
WINDOW #3:
Stochastic_Color_V1.034D - (10,3,3)
LONG ENTRY
1. Price Crosses MA's and candle is Blue
2. HMA Histo is Blue
3. Macd has crossed showing long.
4. Rads T3 Stoch is above the Macd
5. Color Stoch is showing blue
Most of the time I will enter on the next candle after the candle, that met this criteria closes. Also I am looking to have price exceed the "trigger" candle.
SHORT ENTRY
1. Price Crosses MA's and candle is Red
2. HMA Histo is Red
3. Macd has crossed showing short.
4. Rads T3 Stoch is below the Macd
5. Color Stoch is showing Red
Most of the time I will enter on the next candle after the candle, that met this criteria closes. Also I am looking to have price exceed the "trigger" candle.
So feel free to take a look at this and offer up any comments or ideas. Even though my record does not prove it, I am TRYING to settle on a plan. So if you are to offer up new indicators, please test first before throwing it up here. I am always looking to improve systems but I want to avoid a bunch of indicators being tossed around with out any testing done with it.
Thanks
Lohad
