hi im self taught in c programming and mql4. the learning curve has been steep but i feel competent to patch together simple things now.

i have no idea why this wont work. could some one please look at the code as im stumped. ty in advance :-)

i am trying to display 6 colours in the histogram, 3 negative, 3 positive.

for some reason only the first 2 conditions will display. the third (extremely bullish or bearish) is meant to be displayed if it is stronger than the previous 2 but it doesnt show. could someone please explain why this is not functioning. thank you!

My humble attempt to convert from mq5 to mq4.

I cannot guarantee this works, as I dont know how it performs on mq5. Additionally, I will NOT be updating any future requests on this specific code, as I am not familiar with mq5 to begin with.

Dear great coders,
as we know that coding ability is important to create a good & profitable indicator, but as a limited coding ability coder, some times it is difficult for me to create a good one. some of my indicators can eat so much memory, and if we put some indicators to a chart, it can freeze the MT4 platform totally .... so ...

Which one is the good trick to create an indicator if we need its calculation at other indicator :
a) we create a default indicator and call it from other indicator using iCustom
b) we create an indicator (or split it to some functions) and put it to library/ includes folder , and called it from other indicator
c) we create some functions inside the indicator it self and call the function again and again .... (not using iCustom or library)

Better to use one of the above option or is there another way ??

I'm looking for a indicator that count the last X bars and returns on the screen the quantity of each them... and with a possible alert message/sound.

Example:

Bar Count: 100 (Bar counts can be a selecteable too)
Returns info on pair screen:
- 50 greens/buying bars
- 48 reds/sellers bars
- 2 dojis

- And an alert when a divergence of X bars occurs, example:
- 60 greens/buying bars
- 38 reds/sellers bars
- 2 dojis
*Here we have X=10 less red bars diverging from greens, so the alert will trigger. (dojis will not count for alarm input reasons)

The alert will trigger when X bars diverge more than another one. When 'x' will be a number that we can change at will.

Dear FF members,

I am looking for MTF indicators which draws previous horizontal Open lines with a facility to define the number of lines to be drawn.
It can be used to take a lookback at past candles with index 1 and use it for day trading with 0 index.

CJA has coded an MTF indicator which draws Close Lines for any TF and can draw a number of lines as shown in the picture. Available at FF.

Can you please provide me a link for such an indicator.
