Hey everyone,
Crypto markets are notorious for heavy sideways chop between massive volatility spikes. A lot of standard indicators like RSI give false signals when BTC just ranges for days.
Lately, instead of running 4 or 5 separate indicators to filter noise, I’ve been testing an all-in-one oscillator approach to catch the actual momentum breakouts. It's called the Xmaster Formula and I've been running it on BTCUSD and ETHUSD.
The Logic for Crypto:
Instead of just looking at RSI, this combines EMA, MACD, RSI, Stochastic, and Parabolic SAR into a single bottom-window oscillator.
I use the "Advanced Mode" which means it ONLY fires a Buy/Sell signal when all 5 underlying indicators agree.
— If MACD and EMA are bullish but RSI isn't ready? No signal.
— It prevents getting chopped up during those boring weekend ranges.
My Observations on BTCUSD:
• Timeframes: H4 and Daily are the sweet spot. Anything under H1 on crypto produces too many false positives.
• Repainting: It locks on candle close. (Crucial for crypto).
• Best paired with: Standard support/resistance zones.
If anyone wants to backtest this on altcoins, it's totally free for MT4/MT5. You can grab the guide and this multi-confluence MT4 tool here.
They also have a TradingView Pine Script version on the main ForexCracked site, which might be easier since most of us chart crypto on TV anyway.
Let me know if anyone has tried combining MACD + Stochastic logic specifically on Ethereum. Curious to see if this holds up across different alt market caps.
Cheers.
