No worries, you were correct as you said "bad for gold" which is automatically true if it's good for USD since the pairing is XAU/USD

Imagine you're a big asset manager and you have billions in risk assets like stocks, and due to bad data it looks like it will be going down and you will lose money or even worse, you already are losing and sitting in major drawdown. I'm talking tens of millions or more, maybe even up to billions, while your hedges in Gold are up quite nicely. What would you do? Close the loss and leave the floating profit? Or would you take profits on Gold to cover the losses from the risk assets in your balance sheet?

It's a big boys game and we're just little fish trying to catch the crumbs

There are people here that forecast after it happen.
All the price movement made was posted here previous, the only thing that price didn't show to me so far was london window breakout, but open doors to add the perfect london window breakout, 2nd time they do this, they not tap, they average candle. And again we ended in averages prices not precise prices...
Who take advantage, congratulations, who chase price, you know it was eated at some point, 50/50 coin...

this also happened to me all the time, had a friend analize my trades and they said my problem was not misreading direction, but trading at internal liquidity instead of external. fixed my trades fast, stay out of the chop.

You’re absolutely right! In a real drawdown situation, big funds don’t think in terms of narrative — they think in terms of risk, liquidity, and exposure. We’ve seen that dynamic in sharp selloffs before, initially everything gets sold, even safe havens, simply because funds need to reduce gross exposure or meet margin requirements. And yeah i find being a small fish 100x better

Would it be a crime if gold was tó stay above 5000 ?
At least 5050-5100.
My sell trade got trail stopped
Now am patiently waiting to buy at a good lower level if current hourly candle continues pushing downward
But if it reversed to above 4990-5000 am entering another long trade

Very strong rejection with close confirmed from 0.5 level of 4970 this could lead up to above 5114 or 5280
