GFT charges FAT inactivity fee!!!

Oanda is heaven compared to many of the brokers. You really should not complain, people. Google GFT inactivity fee and see people loosing big money.

anyone knows which broker doesn't have too wide a spread during news hour? Oanda has as much as 15 pips spread just now.

Never deposit all of your trading money with a broker. Keep half in separate bank account (don't touch the money) and half with your broker. Simply trade with the risk as if you trade with all of your money.

Also it is better to use different brokers. But legally speaking, there should be no trouble. Why would there?

They all have high spreads. Just trade with high spread, what's the deal?

There is a theoretical limitation to spread and high volatility. You can't have 1 pip spread and 10 pip per second movements. So just trade it as it is.

During NFP, even with 10 pip spread it feels like you have 1 pip spread, because the movement is so rapid.

I thank you all for the good advise I've been read in this community. Please I am a newbe. I just conclude to upgrade from Demo to Live forex trading. I need your advise on OANDA as I am thinking of opening the live account with them. How much in USD is OANDA's minimum account opening, what is the trading experience like? or is there any other better fx broker with better spread.please help a dying fellow.

There's No minimum for deposits. there are better Brokers But not all brokers are right for everyone. My trading experience is good i chose them because i have only ever experienced 2 Slippage and that was due to my internet connection. some worry about spreads but i dont cause i trade when the market is quiet anyway.
Results WILL vary.

It's not bad, but I wouldn't use the charts. I use TOS for charting. I like that you can trade as small as you want and there's no minimum deposit. Spreads aren't too bad usually, just watch out for news by checking the calendar here.

Exactly. Bottomline is Oanda has gotten worse over the last year. They are no longer the best market maker broker in my opinion.

I wouldn'tgo with Oanda right now. They are playing too many games. Better off with different broker.

fyi, just because they are "top three" in CFTC's report doesn't mean they are the top three brökers out there.

Well, with all the comments and opinions about the broker, I would have expected for someone to have some technical knowledge!! Unfortunately, I didn't even get a "yeah, that's bizarre, why not get in touch with Oanda". I will assume that by your comment you believe it is bizarre. I will get in touch with them. But, regardless, the comments from Oanda would likely be something like "that won't happen on live REAL accounts". I would take that as being their generic answers. That is why I would have liked to hear from members, whether they have experienced these problems live trading with their EA's.

Exactly. Especially if the report was done months ago before they started cheating the customers!

They recently changed their interest payouts so they pay less. That's the biggest problem I have with them right now. I just find that appalling.

He didn't post any wrong information. You didn't understand correctly. Marv said "IF" they don't get their act together they will start to lose the more serious and higher capitalized traders. In other words that $175M will start coming down. I'm baffled at how you couldn't understand that.
