If this strategy were applied to Forex futures would there be any value in monitoring the Commitment to Traders report to help forecast higher timeframe trends, similar to the way candle patterns on 4H help establish a general trading direction?

What exactly do you mean? At what step is said discretion missing and why do you feel that cannot be automated? Are you talking about news announcements? I might try to get a fundamental data feed and not trade during announcements.

So who here does really well with this strategy? I've automated it in C# but can't get it profitable over the long term it seems. Who wants to tweak it with me as a collab? You should be able to prove that you're trading it successfully.

Good question. My thought on this is that since the MACD red signal is period 26 and the xpMA is a TEMA(24), the xpMA should always cross first, and the only time the MACD will stop you out very quickly, the TEMA would have done it first anyways. ...

Thank you Chokdee. I do prefer the visualization in the original, though. I like to clearly see 2 overlapping sessions , and plotting both opens and closes with vertical lines really clogs up my price chart.

It would be great if somebody coded up (or post if exists) a better version of the MarketHours indicator: The current version is not very accurate. I've labeled the Sydney open, Tokyo open, London open, and New York open with vertical lines, ...

I think a higher time frame ADX would be a good filter for this system. For buy: ADX > 20 DI+ > 20 DI+ sloping up For sell: ADX > 20 DI- > 20 DI- sloping up Here's an example, 2 bad entries on the left that would have been filtered and 2 good ...

Here's another example of what I was talking about the EA taking the entry too late when the price has already moved considerably. I don't know why it took the 4th and not the 1st Heikin Ashi sell signal (which would have been an excellent trade)
- parliament71 replied Nov 23, 2012
Someone mind quickly telling me how these Heiken Ashis generate the signal? Is it when the candle closes above a hidden MA based on the heikin ashi? Period? Thanks

I like the simplicity of this system, it seems promising. I'll help test it. One thing the EA is doing terribly wrong is ignoring this rule: Trade first Hienken Ashi signal only after the trend change on the xpma. If the Hienken Ashi is already in ...

Sorry, I dont understand what you mean by this as I dont see any strong resistance in the 81.32 area. I took the trade based on a sonic setup with consideration to high volume and high trading activity around a 2 week long support zone. My ...

UJ: entered long EP: 81.207 SL: 80.940 TP: 81.700 Please comment on my volume analysis, if you agree, disagree, or notice anything I could have done to improve my trade. Im considering removing my TP for now and let this one run until around 82.000, ...

Indeed there are. Im long here at 1.02705. Unfortunately to late for sonicers though it literally just shot off as I type this.. EDIT: Pulling back to dragon for reentry if anyone is "interested". Your decision is your own! =p
- parliament71 replied Apr 18, 2012
Yup im in too on the small pullback. My TP is under the S/R I pointed out, closer to jasakreatif's
- parliament71 replied Apr 18, 2012
I was considering this too but not sure yet. Watch for gap (oanda) and support may turn resistance and your tp is beyond that. I wouldnt really consider this too strong S/R but just a heads up anyway

UChf: TP hit for 44 pip profit EU: Short Still open SL at 1.31575 for half 1.31911 for the rest

I filled 25% of my short at 1.31250 at retracement after dragon breach. Wanted to fill the rest a little higher but price started shooting down so I pulled the trigga finga at 1.3095 =x May I asked where your SL/TP are? Mines 1.31520/1.30419
- parliament71 replied Apr 18, 2012
Ah yes, Im in this too since 0.9160 earlier in the day. Heres a M30 chart to show reasoning for placement of TP in both charts around strong S/R zone in red. Oh and its starting to move up as I type this very nice
