Does anyone know what the "equals" input does on the LW Fractals that Pipsbang attached above? Is it the setting which stops repainting? Because this indicator is repainting for me and I have changed the equals to several different settings and it ...

So, what determines when your SL/TP are executed on MT4? Does it differ with a BUY and SELL? For instance, if you short a currency pair like USD/JPY, does the Bid price determine when your TP is executed? And the Ask price determines when a BUY's TP ...

I appreciate that. I will keep a second chart open with the ask line, so I can compare whenever I think a trade doesn't close when it should. The thing that seems suspect to me is that these sorts of things never go in my favor. Never. Just a couple ...

How about everyone in this thread go back and delete your replies so that maybe this thread won't look like trash.

3 people have replied and no one has even attempted to give an answer. Why are you all even replying?

How about you stay on the topic of this thread and not derail it with another topic. I'm asking about trailing step functionality, not trailing start.

I'm not sure why you're upset, because if you thought you answered my question in post #2, why does your indicator put the dots in the wrong place? This new indicator puts the dots in a different spot than before, and the first candle of each ...

That can't be right because look at the first candle of any new channel. The candle that has a dot above or below it. Your indicator has another dot on this same candle, but if your indicator did what I want, your dot would be on top of the dot that ...

Yes, 1090 and that fixed it. But I still don't understand what the lines are telling me. In some places the price closes past one of the lines but a new channel doesn't open. And the thing I was asking about was the price or location of the dot ...

Those lines do not show on my chart. I'm using Forex.com's Mt4. At first I thought it was because the lines are black and my background is black, but I see some of the lines are white and they don't show on my black background, either. I am using ...

Thanks, but I don't see what that added other than a dot on top of the other dot. I'm talking about putting a dot on every candle, which shows where a new channel would potentially open, even if it doesn't.

So, is it possible to predict where that dot will be the candle before it appears? I'm not saying predict when a new channel will form. Only predict where that dot would appear if the price moved enough to form a new channel. Do you know what I ...

Can you set an initial stop loss that will not move until the trailing stop kicks in?
- m0b1us replied Feb 18, 2017
I would only have it open on one pair on one time frame. It will work correctly for most trades, but then consistently it will not set the TP/SL lines or one of the close methods won't work even though nothing has been touched with the EA. It hasn't ...

Can you write this into an existing EA? And just type in the number of pips like you would for a trailing step or something like that?
- m0b1us replied Feb 16, 2017
Can anyone help with this?

Awesome, thanks for the help. I have one more indicator I want to do this on. This indicator creates trend lines - but also horizontal support/resistance lines and I want those lines just like the pivot lines i.e. only on the right hand side of the ...

This code removes those as well!

This is looking great! The main bug left is when you switch between timeframes, it resets the lines - which causes the alerts to go off again and again. Also, when the lines are originally plotted on the chart, they are about a pip away from the ...

Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it. However, there is some sort of bug where the alert goes off even when the buy/sell lines haven't been reached. I think it might have to do with how the lines are originally plotted on the chart about ...
