How are they scammers exactly?

I think in my case I treat trading like a business, mainly because I own a business (unrelated to trading) so I've got that kind of mindset rather than say a gambler's one, for example.

I am going to play devil's advocate and say that yes, you can earn a living from Forex trading. I'm also going to raise some eyebrows by telling you that: - you DON'T need years or decades of trading experience - you CAN trade from home, even with a ...

Thanks but my question is more about how to stop the alert getting played repeatedly.

Wow there's a lot of conflicting advice on here lol I used one of those online indicator builders the other day but it didn't seem to work well and my MT4 was extremely slow to start up for some reason. I might spend some time looking at the code ...

Thanks rockit, I'll check that site out for the documentation and have a go at doing some coding.

That's really strange! Are you using the MT4 supplied from a broker? If so, might be worth trying it from the Meta Trader website itself and seeing if that makes a difference? Apart from that, can't really suggest anything else - sorry!

Well I suppose it comes down to what system/strategy you use. I think if I was to use Martingale, I'd probably use two systems simultaneously (one with and one without Martingale) and see which one offered the best outcome over time.

Why did the SSD cause you issues? And what SSD did you use? On my system I've got an Intel Core i5 CPU with 8GB RAM and 2x 128GB SSDs (one is Crucial, the other Samsung I think), running Windows 10. I've not had any issues with MT4 and the SSD. The ...

Cheers Daniel. I'll take a look at that site in a bit. I was going to post a new thread up actually to ask for help with that but the site isn't letting me for some reason, probably because I'm still a new member I guess.

Thanks mate!

Oh OK! Do you happen to know the best way to modify indicators with some other software? Or do I need to use MT4? The only thing I want to do is add an alert when something happens, so there is so major code alterations needed. Thanks Daniel!

I totally agree. When I first started learning to trade, my discipline was like zero! I've actually written down a list of conditions that I must force myself to abide by before I trade. It seems to work so far! Last week, I learnt that you should ...

I came across that site the other day. Is it easier to use than coding within MT4 itself I presume? I need to modify one of the indicators I use in MT4 but not too enthusiastic about the prospect of learning a programming language to do so!

I think my strategy is to just sit, watch and wait... I imagine trading will be extremely volatile, although I guess some people might try to take advantage of such trading conditions. Not me though, I'd rather see what happens first...

1. The potential to make money, of course! 2. There's a lot of B.S. that some people online talk when trading. It can get tedious sifting through what is fact and what is just a scam. 3. I often think that there might be a better strategy out there ...

I've quoted the above comment because it's still relevant today as it was three years ago. I'm learning lots about trading each day. One thing I've discovered is that some strategies that others claim are brilliant don't work for everyone. ...

I use Windows 10 and my MT4 indicators work OK... You might be having the problem if you've got more than one MT4 installation and your indicators are getting mixed up somehow? Might be worth deleting all instances of MT4 on your computer and trying ...

In my opinion, Martingale is an easy way to lose your money. Chasing your losses is never a smart thing to do. And it's even worse if you have no self-control or discipline. It's better to just accept that you'll make some losses but you won't ...
